Groovy was so delighted with Dreamy. He loved having a playmate. When she first came home, she was 7 weeks old and I still kept her in a kennel. I put toys and little bones in the kennel for her, and Groovy would go up to the kennel, and somehow she'd get her stuff against the side of the kennel and lose everything to Groovy on the outside! No matter how many toys and chews I put in the kennel with her, when I'd check on her again, Groovy would have managed to get it all on the outside of the cage again!

Groovy was so sweet and gentle to Dreamy...but when she got just a little bigger, he would play harder and while outside, he'd run by her and push her down and she would roll down the hill, but she was never hurt.

Groovy endured a lot while Dreamy was growing up. Remember how Groovy teethed on my legs when he was small? Well, Dreamy teethed on Groovy, namely his muzzle, and Groovy would just let her get away with it and never hurt her. Sometimes he'd have little polka dots of blood on his muzzle from her tiny sharp teeth. That's why when he grew older, he had lots of tiny white dots on his muzzle, because when the hair grew back, it grew in white!

Groovy was the papa bear. When they would hear something, they'd both run outside barking, and Groovy would run all the way to the gate, while Dreamy would stand behind the corner of the house and peek around and do her barking from there. Groovy was always brave and courageous!

Groovy would let Dreamy chew on stuff sometimes, then other times he would come try to take it away from her and she learned to run underneath the car to escape him, then he would lay down next to the car and just stare at her while she enjoyed her treat in safety!

Ok, here's the story about the tree to the left. I had someone come and plant this tree in the backyard specifically so that they would have a shadetree, that's why I got such a big one, so it would be instant shade (also because all of the smaller trees I got, Dreamy broke off or chewed in half). You'll notice that the trunk has hardware cloth around it to be Dreamy proof. Anyway, the day I had it planted, I was at work so I had to leave the weims in the house so they couldn't get out. When I got home and let them out, both of them went running up the hill, but when Groovy saw that big damn tree that used to not be there, he turned and ran in the opposite direction while looking back over his shoulder to see if the monster tree was chasing him! Groovy grew to luv the shadetree.

Groovy was always a happy puppy! He was cool to try anything as long as we were together. When he was young, even after he was neutered, he never marked anything while on walks until he was around 5 years old. He'd just sniff hesitantly at stuff. One Christmas, someone had a realistic looking reindeer in their yard, and when we'd walk past that yard, Groovy would growl really long and low and stare at it!

Cool...snow! They got to see snow once, and loved licking it off the brick ledge.

This was taken in Jan. 1999. You can see that Groovy has mastered the art of being a couch potato.

This is one of my favorite pics of Groovy. He looks like such a poser!
