In Memory of James Thomas "Speck" McMillian
James Thomas "Speck" McMillian was born on May 24, 1918 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Mr. Robert Edward Lee McMillian and Mrs. Annie Cavin McMillian.  His father was listed as a horse keeper at the time of his birth.  James was raised around horses and had a strong passion for the rodeo.  By the age of 18 he won the All-Around Cowboy in Madison Square Garden in 1935, 1936 and 1937.  He later became a Rodeo Clown.  He married Mary Evelyn Colwell and they raised nine children.  Speck also worked as a electrician.  But he had rodeo in his blood and that was his real passion.

                             Former Cowboy star dies at 53

James Thomas "Speck" McMillian 53 died Tuesday August 17, 1971 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.  McMillian was born in Ardmore and moved to oklahoma city in 1925 with his family.  He was an Electrician and a professional Cowboy.  He was a member of the Nicoma Park Masonic Lodge.  He was a Baptist.  

Suvivors include his wife, Evelyn: six sons, James Jr., Robert,Frances, Kenneth, Billy, Henry.  Three daughters, Mrs. Jodi Traxler, Katheryn Ann, and Theresa Gail.
A brother Robert McMillian and one sister Louise Norekia.
