Color and Pattern Variations of Corn Snakes

Because of the interest this page originally generated, I have changed the format to make it more user friendly. This collection of pictures illustrates some of the tremendous diversity of the corn snake being bred in captivity today. It in no way reflects all the varieties that are out there as new varieties are being created yearly. Most of the corn snakes pictured here are available from breeders. I would really like to thank Warren Carbonell, Bill and Kathy Love and especially Rich Zuchowski for their help with this page. Some of the images are the same as those seen in Reptiles magazine. They were not copied, they were borrowed directly from Bill and Kathy Love. As a way of thanks I have added links to the pages of breeders who have supplied me with photographs of their animals. Any poor computer rendering of the photos is strictly my fault. Please obtain written permission from the owners before copying any of the photographs on the following pages. Thanks, Dr. Shawn Lockhart
This set of pages will be divided into the following four categories:
This page features some of the diversity of corn snakes found in the wild, and the fabulous colors bred into corns without using genetic mutations.
In contrast to the above page, this page features color variations of corn snakes combining both natural variation and gene mutations.
This page features pattern mutations of the corn snake as well as the various color mutations that can be achieved when pattern and color mutations are combined.
This page features links, names, addresses, and phone numbers of people I recommend who sell quality corn snakes.
A very good book that I recommend is A Color Guide to Corn Snakes by Michael J. McEachern, Advanced Vivarium Systems, 1991.
If you have original GIFs of other corn varieties that you would like me to post here, feel free to send them to me and I will post them.
