Who We Are
Hanover Junior Woman’s Club (HJWC) is a non-profit volunteer organization in Hanover County, VA. HJWC is a part of the Lee District of Woman’s Clubs, Virginia Federation of Woman’s Clubs, and the Greater Federation of Woman’s Clubs.
Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of every month beginning in September and ending in May. Meetings begin at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. The goal of HJWC is to educate its members and the community in various areas of interest ranging from arts to legislation. The club's committee structure enables its members to volunteer time and donate money to various organizations.
HJWC is involved in many activities, but the amount of time you devote is up to you. The basic membership requirements are: Must be between the ages of 18 and 45. Must submit dues and application fee as specified by the By-laws. Must attend two-thirds of the regularly scheduled meetings. Must participate in the Club’s general fund raising projects and philanthropic projects.

What We Do
HJWC currently has six departments: Health, Art, Camp Easter Seal East, Conservation, Education, and Home Life. Club members serve on the committees that interest them most. Committee members meet and plan Club projects that benefit various organizations, including: Camp Easter Seal East, Operation Smile, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and DARE.
HJWC’s fund raising efforts include selling plants, Entertainment Books, and Wrapping Paper. The money raised is used to help fulfill the needs of our community

Social Time
While HJWC spends many hours volunteering, we also plan several social events throughout the year. This social time gives members an opportunity for fellowship with other Club members and their families. Social events include: Husband Appreciation, “Ladies Night Out”, Covered Dish dinners, Summer Social, Holiday Party, Charity Ball, and more.
