About the Artist
Harry K. Rolle was born in Nassau Bahamas on August 5th 1954. His gift as an artist was discovered at an early age, where at Primary School young Harry's chore was to decorate the school boards using coloured chalks, to create Christmas and Easter scenes at holiday times, which he enjoyed doing, he is a 1971 high school graduate of St. Augustine's College, New Providence BAHAMAS.
In 1974 the artist returned home to Nassau from England after successfully completing a 3 year course in Commercial Art & Graphic Design at Hastings College of Further Education, UK. From Sept. 1975 - June 1984, Harry taught Art, Technical Drawing and photography at various High Schools in New Providence, after which he started a career as a full-time Artist. "Art to me is a true love and an opurtunity for me to express myself fully, I feel a real sense of power and pride when I am creating";. During the earlier days Harry tried his hand at prized competition on a national level, and was quite successful, in the 1980 National Art Competition(adult category}, he was awarded {3} 1st place prizes and again in 1981 he was the winner of {2} 1st place prizes and a plaque for excellency in sculpture, at The National Arts Competition Festival.
The artist currently gives free lessons on Tuesdays at The E.P. Roberts Primary School, and is a member of The Living Faith S.D.A. Church.

Technique, Subjects and Mediums
I use different techniques depending on the desired effect that I want to achieve, based on the perception I have of the finished piece even before I start, this determines how I approach the subject, unless it is a commissisioned job, but being natrually gifted , there is no intimidation in regards of choice of subjects, I like to do them all, using different mediums such as watercolors, oils, acrylics, charcoals etc.

My Interests
My main interest is my relationship with God, next family and of course art is somewhere up there, I am a good chess player and I also like watching basketball.

My Favorite Artist
God is my favourite Artist, I love the way that He has created you and me, and so many things that my eyes can see. I am really impressed when I see the colours of a rainbow, the Bahamian sea, and a Nassau sunrise or sunset, it makes me want to paint like Him.
