This section of my website is devoted to links to some of my favorite websites. :-) Here, you'll find links to designers, to mail order businesses, to informational sites about counted thread and other needle arts, and to companies who manufacture some of the equipment we use when we stitch. As I continue to browse the Internet, I'll be adding to the list of links. I am offering these websites just as links for you to enjoy. I do not promote any of them. CameoRoze's Stitchers' Studio--An excellent source of information about stitching in general with lots of info for AOL stitchers from one of our own.

Counted Cross Stitch FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)--One of the first and, IMHO, the most complete areas of information for the cross stitcher. The FAQ contains 7 documents with a wealth of information about everything from cross-stitch design software to a cross-stitch tutorial.

Cross Stitch at The Mining Company--Lots of information here about our favorite form of embroidery. Historical information and links to websites, as well as much more.

ECN Website--Designed and maintained by one of our own stitchers, this website offers a great deal of information about embroidery, cross stitch, and needlework, with a focus on what's going on in our chat room, Needlework Corner.

Framing--Good framing instructions and tips.

Prairie Crossroads--IRADJ's home page, including lots of stitching information and links.

Craftsmen's Studio--Needlework supply site, emphasizing fabrics.

Needlecraft Showcase--Online shopping mall for needleart materials

Needlework Gazette's Wonderful World of Stitches--Has some information about stitching and sells project books that teach a variety of stitches.

Nordic Needle--A well known mail order source for all kinds of embroidery supplies and charts. Excellent hardanger charts. Limited online catalogue, but will send complete catalogue free of charge.

Threaded Needle--A needlework shop in the Northeast that does excellent mail order business, as well.

Wyndham Needleworks--Mail order source offering excellent samplers and sampler reproductions.

STITCHING SUPPLY MANUFACTURERS

Bucilla--Bucilla has offered primarily kits for cross stitches, needlepoint and other enthusiasts for a number of years.

Caron Fibers--Caron makes some wonderful hand-painted and hand-dyed fibers, including Waterlilies, WaterColours, and Wildflowers.

Cochenille--Cross Stitch Design program, Stitch Painter, in several versions, as well as software for other forms of needlework design.

Compucrafts--Offers Stitch Crafts Gold cross-stitch design software. Demo available.

DMC Home Page--The home page for DMC fibers.

DP Software--This company does a cross-stitch design program, Cross Stitch Professional.

Gingher Scissors--Home page for the Cadillac of scissors for all forms of needlework and sewing.

Green Mountain Hand-Dyed Linens--Hand-dyed linens plus some designers and links to other websites of interest for those who use their hand-dyed linens.

HobbyWare--This company makes several cross-stitch design programs, including Pattern Maker and Pattern Maker Pro.

McIntosh Samplers--Offers books containing samplers, stitching history, etc.

Redex Udder Cream--Once again, we've borrowed a farm product. Udder cream is one of the recommended hand softeners for use when stitching. It is glycerine-based and will not cause grease stains, even invisible ones, when you stitch.

Sudberry House--This company is very well known for its wooden products, such as trays and clocks, as well as other unique ways to display your needlework.

DESIGNERS

Flower Power--See one of the most popular designs being stitched today. From Crossed Wing Collection, which does a superb line of charts featuring birds.

Just Nan--Here's the home page for yet another wonderful and very widely known designer.

Lesa Steele Designs--Lesa has a lovely collection of samplers at this Website.

Lone Deer/Sonagolese Designs--These two Native American designers met on AOL, and their collaborative efforts have produced some wonderful and challenging Native American designs. There are pictures of their pieces here, as well as other information.

Mirabilia Designs--Home page for Nora Corbett's popular designs.

FESTIVALS AND COMPETITIONS

Spirit of Cross Stitch Festivals--A series of cross-stitch festivals held each year in different areas of the United States from the east coast to the west coast and in between. Many online stitchers have attended at least one of these festivals, which feature classes, a shopping mall for stitchers, and a juried show.

MAGAZINES

Classic Stitches--Home page for one of the wonderful mags to come out of the U.K. An entire glossary of counted-thread stitches with diagrams, and subscription information.
