Hexfest Volunteer Info

Requirements

We ask that you come to the site and help out on at least one Volunteer Day prior to the fest, and work at least two four hour shifts during the fest. If you are a first year Volunteer, you must come out to the Festival site one of the Prefest days.

THE FINAL PREFEST VOLUNTEER DAYS:
TUESDAY AUGUST 22 1pm to 5pm
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23 1pm to 5pm

The Staff positions will be closed after the Volunteer Days. If you are volunteering for the first time and have not done a prefest shift, you must come out one of these days.

It would be very helpful if someone with a pickup truck comes out.

We start at 1pm. Bring a rake, shovel, weedwacker, and/or chain saw if you have one and come dressed for yard work for the Volunteer Days (work gloves and boots are a good idea). There is also office work, sign making, phone duty, and other work on the Volunteer Days for those who would prefer that to grounds. You must come out for at least one Volunteer Day prior to fest, and a limited number of Volunteers who come out to at least four Volunteer Days would not have to work during the fest. If you are a returning Staff member and are not able to come out to a Volunteer Day, please contact us for an exemption.
We will have a Staff meeting at Thursday August 24 @ 8 pm (the nite before the fest) that you must be present at, so plan to arrive at the fest site by that time. You must be able to be at the site for this meeting no later than 8pm August 24th or contact us for an exemption!
First year staff will have a Parking, Security or Gate shift at the Festival. The festival comittees are Parking, Gate, Security, Grounds, Vending, Office, Photography, Merchandising, Printed Program, and Stage Crew. We will be appointing crew chiefs to each of these comitteees. You'll get paid if you work above and beyond the call of duty! Volunteer Staff size is limited, so please contact us asap if interested.

TO SIGN UP AS A VOLUNTEER: Send us your us your name, Email, snail mail, and phone number (so we can contact you if necessary) and tell us your interests and abilities so we may find you a space that is enjoyable for you and beneficial to the festival. Our Staff size is limited and is filling up quick. First year Staff will be required to place a deposit of the Way Advance ticket price ($40) which will be refunded when Staff duties are completed.
