Porphyria & Nutrition Diet. 400g Carbs a day.

I try to eat my biggest meals during the day as due to this illness I have become very sedentary. Basically if I can eat around 66g of carbs at each fuel period ( i have 6) through out day, I will reach 400g of carbs for the days total with no problems. I also try to have a glass of water or juice with me at all times from am to pm.

To make it even easier follow this guide in your own meals.

EASY CARB COUNTER
bread/starch 15g fruit 15g milk 12g vegetable 5g

Here is a two day menu using actual package information for carb intake.
DAY 1

10am- Oat Bran Cereal, milk- 49g, bagel 30g w/ cream cheese 2g, pear 24g,  TOTAL 105g

Noon- Cran-apple juice 16ox glass. 66g 0g,

2pm- Sandwich, 2 slices bread, 26g, mayo 2g, turkey, tomato, lettuce, onion. UNKg, total 30grams applesauce 27g-TOTAL 85g

4pm- Cran grape drink 52 grams of carbs

6pm- Pop tarts (toastettes 2) 34g,

8pm- Myrna's rice (rice 27g, red beans 20g, potato 26g), pork loin, veggie salad. Milk 12g-TOTAL 73grams

TOTAL FOR DAY 415g OF CARBS

DAY 2

10am- cheerios, milk, banana, 2 toast w/ jelly and butter, cup of fruit, coffee w/ sugar- total carbs 105 grams w/o banana.

Noon- 2 graham crackers 23g w/cream cheese frosting- total carbs 24 grams- total carbs 47g

2pm- turkey sandwich, bread (2, Milton's healthy multigrain)56g, lettuce, tomato, onion UNK, mayo 2g, Bear Creek Creamy Potato soup (mix) 1 cup 26 grams, oceanspray cranapple juice 51g-total 135g

4pm- chips about 20 chips 17g, caffeine free pepsi 41g- total carbs

6pm- m&m's 1/4 cup-total carbs 30 grams

8pm- Spaghetti, roll, salad, ruby red squirt-total carbs 99 grams

TOTAL FOR DAY 457g OF CARBS
