About the "Build a Better Future" School Project

Build schools, educate the new generations and save Afghanistan from such desolation in the future.

Location:

Country : Afghanistan

Province: Wardak

District: Jaghatoo

Goals/Objectives

Twenty-four years later in 2002 I found the situation had deteriorated further. The infrastructure was no longer in place and recently, the UN has estimated that during that period illiteracy has increased by 12%. However, the children’s desire to attend school if one was available has not diminished.

The objective is to build a school offering courses from K1-K8. The facility will be centrally located for reasonable accessibility for most nearby villages. The school would consist of eight classrooms, an office, storage space, a meeting room, a library and two restrooms. A group of engineers surveyed the region and proposed a site for the new school that is within 10 km for the five neighboring villages. There was enthusiastic support from the villagers for the location and scale of this project. They have already donated 4 acres of land at the site and they are providing a list of willing trade workers to assist with planning and construction. An engineering firm recently inspected the site and the soil to confirm that the land is suitable for such a structure and their architects have submitted draft blueprints for the school.

Cost

A detail project cost structure will be provided in the near future. Additional recurring expenses will include personnel to operate the proposed facility. In order to provide sufficient service, we propose the following structure and their respective salaries: These will be recurring costs· Principal $50/month
