The Hidden Sky Creators

AUTHORS

PETER FOLEY (Music and Lyrics) has written music for theater, film, television and recital. For THE HIDDEN SKY, he received an individual artist grant from the NEA and a Richard Rodgers Development Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He has also received the Stephen Sondheim Award from the American Music Theater Festival (now Prince Music Theater) and a general support grant from the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation.

He has composed numerous scores and songs for plays, including Andre Gregory's ALICE IN WONDERLAND (Berkeley Theater Project), W.B. Yeats' THE ONLY JEALOUSY OF EMER (Playwrights Horizons Theater School), and Matthew Wells' THE MILDRED PIECE (InCoAct, NYC). Film and television projects include several PBS documentaries, the theme for Bill Moyers' series LISTENING TO AMERICA, and the independent feature film, 93 MILLION MILES FROM THE SUN. Peter has been an artist in residence at the MacDowell Colony, the Millay Colony for the Arts, and the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. A native of Berkeley, California, Peter graduated with honors from Yale University.

KATE CHISHOLM (Book) is a writer, director, actor, singer and designer. She has directed original works at Columbia University, the Yale British Art Center, Alice's 4th Floor (NYC), and Towson University. For the Playwrights' Horizons School, she directed W.B. Yeats's THE ONLY JEALOUSY OF EMER, and for the Towson University Graduate Theatre Program she directed Kenneth Koch's ON AESTHETICS, with an emphasis on ensemble movement; and the world premiere of HEARTFIELD, a new musical by Kenneth Allan Vega about the life and work of the German photomontage artist John Heartfield. Kate has studied acting, directing, playwriting and theater studies at Yale University, the Neighborhood Playhouse, Playwrights' Horizons, Circle Rep, with Anne Bogart, and with the San Francisco Mime Troupe. Kate has an extensive performance background and is also a maskmaker; assisted in building masks for Julie Taymor's production of THE GREEN BIRD.

Kate won a Richard Rodgers Development Award for THE HIDDEN SKY, and has received grants from Theater Instituut Nederlands and the US/Netherlands Touring & Exchange Project. She holds a B.A. with honors from Yale University, and is currently completing an MFA in Theatre in Towson University's interdisciplinary graduate theater program.
