| August 1994 | Peter uses residency at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center to complete first three songs. Kate joins collaboration. |
| April-May 1995 | Peter continues work at the Millay Colony for the Arts and the MacDowell Colony. |
| Summer 1995 | Peter and Kate spend summer completing Act I, supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. |
| March 1996 | Kate and Peter receive a Richard Rodgers Development Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, to support a staged reading of THE HIDDEN SKY in New York City. |
| April 1997 | 2 weekends of staged readings are presented at the Director's Company, New York City, directed by BT McNicholl and music directed by Wendy Bobbitt. |
| June 1997 | American Music Theater Festival (AMTF), Philadelphia, expresses interest in developing the show. |
| May 1998 | AMTF, in conjunction with the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, presents a reading of THE HIDDEN SKY, directed by AMTF Artistic Director, Ben Levit. |
| October 1998 | Using the same U. Arts students, AMTF presents a fully staged reading of THE HIDDEN SKY. |
| February 25 - March 19, 2000 | Prince Music Theater (formerly AMTF ) produces the world premiere production of THE HIDDEN SKY in their brand new theater, directed by Ben Levit and music directed by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett. |
