BALANCE THE BUDGET.
Our children will have to pay for today's waste and excess. This is morally wrong and selfish. Annual interest on the national debt is about $200 billion. The surplus should be used to pay down the national dept.
IMPROVE THE ECONOMY.
Sharply reduce government regulations and paperwork that business are required to produce in order to conform to bureaucratic red tape. Simplify and lower taxes. This will loosen the reins on businesses both large and small so they can function efficiently and profitably. At the same time business subsidies and special favors must end.
PRIVATIZE EDUCATION.
Because of taxation for public schools parents are deprived of the resources to provide their children with a proper education. The public school system takes our tax money and wastes it. The public schools don't improve because they receive tax money regardless of performance. Once privatized there would be a wide variety of different types of schools and teaching methods for parents to choose from.
STOP THE WAR ON DRUGS.
Drug prohibition just like alcohol prohibition has not worked. It has jeopardized due process of law and has brought about police harassment of innocent people. It has absorbed an excessive amount of police resources that should be used to fight violent crime.
CAMPAIGN REFORM.
There should be limits on the power and spending ability of congress, only then will the system of political privelage come to an end, and money will cease to flow into the couffers of politicians. Special interest groups and large corporations will not contribute money if they cannot get receive back political favors or get their programs funded. The ability of congress to tax, and the centralized bureaucratic control of money must be reduced. Political power corrupts. To eliminate corruption we must eliminate political power. That is the only way campaign reform will be achieved.
CRIME
We
don't need more prisons. The U.S. has the highest incarceration rate in the
world. We need to focus less on enforcement and more on rehabilitation and
prevention. Blamimg crime on guns is irresponsible and detracts attention from
the real problem.
NATIONAL DEFENSE. The U.S. has no business
meddling in the affairs of other nations. Presidents from both major parties
have shown an easy willingness to use force. Rather than solve problems this
causes resentment toward the USA around the world. The might of the U.S.
military should be used to protect American shores only. The U.S. should
withdraw from commitments to engage in war on behalf of other governments. There
must be no further unilateral acts of military intervention by the Executive
Branch. Congressional approval should be required for all future military
actions.
DON'T WASTE YOUR VOTE. Republicans
will promise tax cuts and smaller government to get votes, but will not
make the hard choice to cut spending. This has caused a rturn of
deficts and increaing national debt. Democrats are the big government party failed 1930's policy. Libertarians represent
the bright future of ecomonic freedom and civil liberties. Vote
Libertarian.
