| Every summer for eighteen years, we held an Allen Reunion somewhere nice. In 2003, we motored to Banff, Alberta for a change of scenery. The Canadian Rockies were beautiful, except for the parts that were on fire. In 2000, we visited Winter Park, Colorado for a week of hiking, good food and good company, followed by Suzy Bruce's wedding in Boulder. In 2001, we met at Carolina Dunes on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In 2002, we returned to South Lake Tahoe for the fifth time. In 2004, some of us met on the beach in South Carolina for the final reunion. It sure was fun while it lasted!. |

| The Claus Family picnic is held on the 4th of July ( more or less ) each year at the old Claus homestead on Wagner Road in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. Contact Shirley for details. |

| In 2002, Shirley and I visitd Italy in May, hiked along the Italian Riviera, saw David ( the statue ) in Florence and even climbed the Leaning Tower in Pisa. We also trained for and power-walked the Big Sur Marathon in Carmel, California.
In May, 2006, Shirley and her sister Mary toured Italy. And in May, 2007, they were joined by sister Kitty and sister-in-law Jeanie for a tour of The Big Apple. Next year? Who knows!

| My Family |
|
| All our children live in California, and most visit us several times a year. Four of our older grandchildren have graduated from college and the two youngest have not yet entered first grade. No great-grandchildren on the horizon yet!;. |

| My Hobbies |
|
| Shirley's hiking group. 'The No Name Yet Hiking Group', walks somewhere pretty twice a week in Santa Cruz County or the surrounding area. Her Friday lunch group is self-explanatory. |
|
| Charlie plants chestnut trees, writes fiction ( still unpublished ) and traces ancestors. |
|
| And we both have part-time jobs to supplement our Social Security. |
|
