AZTEC Travel Newsletter

Well, here it is July and the heat is upon us! As of today we've had 12 or more

consecutive days of 110 degree plus temperatures. I hope you're all paying

attention to the heat index and the real temperatures that's out there. Heat

kills and you need to pay attention to the daily temperatures and what your

body is telling you. Some people are wanting to stay in where it's cool; others are wanting to travel. The one thing about travelling is the fact that it's nice and cool in the vehicle we're travelling in but when you get out you still have to "put up with the heat only at a different location". Example: Tombstone for

the day! (Nice one day trip but it's still hot there too.) So, by taking this all into

consideration I have come up with a wonderful solution...."Beat The Heat

Tours" (Are we on the same page? ("New Destinations - Lower Temps") See

TRAVEL BROCHURE - I mentioned in the Premier Edition of your newsletter that I was going to "Roll Out A New Travel Brochure after the 1st of the

year". You haven't got it yet because I had to "nip that idea in the bud" because the printing costs were prohibitive. So, in it's place I am going to send out "Special Travel Notices and/or Promotions" about sixty (60) days

ahead of time. This way I can deal with one tour at a time and I think the

whole concept will work better. Think of it this way....I pay an outrageous

printing fee; I pay for the envelopes that the newsletter goes out in and I pay for the "postage to get it mailed" out to you. Once it has been distributed then I wait to see whose going to call me and sign up for the trips and/or tours.

(If no one signs up then I've just "spit into the wind" so to speak) That's why I'm taking a different avenue at this point and time!

INDEPENDENT TRAVEL AGENT STATUS - I told you all previously that I had

signed on with Global Travel as an Independent Travel Agent. I even sent you a business card with all of my information on it. I ran into some "snags" with

this organization and immediately discontinued by "business relationship" with them. So, if you need Airline Tickets or anything of that nature then you're going to need to go through a local travel agent or get your tickets on the Internet. (Tear up the Global Travel Agent Business Card that I gave each

LAUGHTER IS GOOD MEDICINE - I read these captions just a few days ago and

thought I'd share a laugh with you. The following are actual answers from

"kids". Question is this - "How Do You Decide Whom To Marry?" 1st Answer)

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God

decides it all the way before and you get to find out later who you're stuck with. (Kristen - Age 10) 2nd Answer) You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports and she should keep the chips and dip coming. (Alan - Age 10) Ha! Ha! Kids say

the darndest things! (Alan, ya might want to rethink this!) Ha! Ha!

YOUR TRAVEL CLUB - As I said before, this is truly "Your Travel Club" and I'm

looking for suggestions. I don't mind being your "Travel Conduit" and making

all the long distance phone calls and the contacts to arrange trips and/or tours.

But I can't think of everything! Maybe you know of an exhibit that is going to be presented somewhere that I don't even know about. If you do let me know.

REBATE TOURS - The "Rebate Tours" I mentioned in the last newsletter have

become effective as of July 1st, 2007. These are restricted to the Large Motor-

coach Trips and/or Tours strictly because of one reason....The larger the group

the more discounts are offered to me as a group leader. I will gladly pass

these "discounted dollars" back to you, our travel club members. In other

words, I'll "rebate" a portion of the money you originally paid me.

BUS PLUS PROGRAM - The Bus Plus Program is still "Under Construction" and

details will be forthcoming when all the kinks are straightened out. Be

SMALL GROUP TRIPS AND/OR TOURS - I am presently checking in to using a

"15 Passenger Van" for some of our upcoming trips. Sometimes we only get

8 or 10 people interested in a trip or tour and it's really hard to say, "I'm sorry

we can't go because we don't have enough interest" when these people who signed up really wanted to go. Sometimes it's easier to be in a small group as

opposed to being in a group of 40 people or more. The personal touch is so

much more prevalent when you show up with a small group. Guess you can

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME - On August 24th, 2007 the Arizona Diamondbacks are playing the Chicago Cubs here at Phoenix Chase Field.

I've put together an evening trip to the ballpark and the Public Retail Price is

$49.00 per person. The AZTEC Travel Club Price is $45.00 per person! Includes

R/T Motorcoach Transportation, a reserved seat at the game and a chance to

win $2,007.00 along with two R/T Airline Tickets. Call me immediately and get

your reservations in place. I haven't run a newspaper ad yet but when I do this is going to fill up fast. Be one of the first to get your reservations in to me!

EXCITING NEWS - "Beat The Heat Tours" have arrived just in time! Some of

you folks know that I belong to a Vacation Travel Group called "Worldmark"

and have access to condominiums throughout the United States. (Last year

when Lois and I went to Kona, Hawaii we stayed in one of our condos.)

Point is just this...We take advantage of these "condos" and stay in them when

possible as opposed to staying in different hotels each night. With this infor-

mation in mind I'd like to tell you about Big Bear Lake, CA where the temps

are in the 80's this time of the year and the lows of a night time are in the

high 40's. The elevation is 7,000 foot and it's only about an 8 hour drive from

Mesa....just north of San Bernadino. (And yes, I have access to condos there..)

There is so much to do here especially "Antique Shopping" right in "The

Village of Big Bear". It's a unique little town and you'll love it! For the guys

there's also "Rainbow Trout Fishing" (if you're a fisherman). Can't forget the

"Sunset" and "Dinner" Cruises that are offered on Big Bear Lake. I'm putting

together a 4 day- 3 night getaway to this location at this time. Be watching

your mailbox or waiting for a phone call from me. When the information

reaches you you'll have to look at your "calendar schedule" and see if you

can "fit the trip in" ... then you'll have to make your reservations immediately

as I can't hold on to the reservations to long without prepayment.
