Yixing Orphanage Project
Homeland Children's Foundation
Yixing Orphanage
Homeland directors from the United States visited Yixing in November, 2003...
On July 4, 2003, Homeland's Sun Tong presented the gift of twenty new, safe, stainless steel cribs to the directors of the Yixing orphanage in Jiangsu Province.
The old pink cribs are cute, but not safe.  The paint is old, and the bars are too wide.
In rolls the truck with the donated cribs!
These new cribs are fully adjustable, have medical poles for medication if needed, and feature storage cubbies underneath.
On July 4, 2003, Homeland Children's Foundation pulled into the grounds of the Yixing Children's Welfare Institute in Jiangsu Province, China, with a large blue truck containing twenty brand new, safety approved stainless steel baby cribs.  Replacing the old painted cribs in the baby room means that children far into the future will
remain safe from the effects of lead based paint, and accidental injury or death from poorly spaced crib bars.  While exorbitantly expensive to purchase and ship from the  United States, excellent quality cribs can be purchased and installed in China for aprroximately $100.00 US per crib. Many thanks to the family of Sophie Reif for their generous contribution to this project.
