POKER
POKER PERFORMANCE PSYCHOLOGY
When two players of equal ability enter the poker arena one shall surely have an advantage over the other. The player with the best mental preparadness shall win the battle. Sports coaches have hired many psycologists to help with the mental aspects of the game. They have used methods to enhance their performance. As in sports poker is a mental game in which you can take your game to the next level. In the heat of a poker game making the correct decisions under stress is seperates the great players from average players. Poker requires players to make one correct play reanalyze and make another play and so forth till each hand is over. On this site we plan to help you do this using some of the training techniques never before discussed anywhere else and try to bring your play to a champion level.
TRAINING TECHNIQUES
Take for example training techniques for poker. Players have trained for poker many years. Tyop players have techniques to help them think faster. Let us look at a simple training technique. Take a deck of cards flip three cards over as in holdem assume there was a raise and name the possiblities or hands an opponent can have with a raise. Lets take a flop like  Q 7 2. This will give you a feel for the exercise. When an good opponent raises he is likely to have the following hands that hit this flop. AQ KQ AA KK 3Qs 3-7s and an under pair to the Q. A lot of players will not raise with QJ QT. Now again take the same flop and assume that there was not a raise. What types of flops can the opponent hold. He can now hold QJ QT Q9 3-7s 3-2s or an underpair. Now lets say you have KQ and raise the non raiser. You can put a lot more raises into this situation rather then the first situation. Try now to figure out the combinations as quickly as possible. Limit yourself to each type of flop turned over. You should practice this calmly and with purpose. Not all combinations are likely to hit the opponents so they have been excluded.
PLAYING IN THE PRESENT
Learning to play in the present increases your performance, your mental attitude and increases profits. Many players ask how can you learn to play in the present. What you are currently doing is all that you should think about when you are doing it. So if you are playing poker think of only poker in the present moment. Do not think of past hands, what should have been or could have been. Think of the moment that you are in and analyze the situation. You are in the hear an now and distractions do not matter. Perform in the moment that you are in. Most people have very stressful lives and the reason for this is they cannot live in the moment or present. When you leave the poker table live in the moment do not dwell on what happened at the table. But when at the poker table the moment is now and you are in it and play the moment to the best edge that you can attain.
DECISION PERFORMANCE

Top players make decisions in a pattern. This enables them to enhance their performance. For each player the decision making process differs. For example you decision making process may go like this. POT ODDS, WHAT OPPONENT HAS, WHAT I HAVE IN RELATION TO MY OPPONENT, IS THERE ANY OTHER OPPONENT, WHAT I HAVE IN RELATION TO THAT OPPONENT, WHAT STRATEGY WOULD WORK BEST FOR WHAT YOU THING THEY HAVE. ANY ADDITIONAL TELLS THE OPPONENT EXIBITED TO SWAY MY JUDGEMENT. THE FINAL DECISION. It is obvious the each player has his own decision making techniques but to make them in a clear concise way will give you better decisions as a whole. Before you get to the table you should have the process clearly in mind. All top atheletes go through the same process each time.
 GOAL SETTING
Goals in poker are hard to define. Players play for a certain amount of money. Goals can be to do better in stressful spots. But the main goal of any poker player is to make correct decisions at all times. All good players play for a goal. They may set there goal to make every decision as correctly as possible in one day. Based on exactly the information that you can gleam. If you are making 10 errors a day a goal has to come into play. This can be your daily goal. On top of the daily goal you also need a weekly goal and a monthly goal. The earnings will come as long as the goal is kept. Set a goal for the whole year. Keep track of your goals by performance and by winnings per hour. If something does not seem to be right change the goals to another that will give you more earn. Earning potential is what poker is all about.
POSITIVE SELF TALK
Negative self talk and not being positive hinders how you play. It may not be noticable to you but your opponents will surely observe the talk. You just can not bet without small hitches in your betting style when you have negative self talk. Talk comes in various forms but one of the worst is "dealer do not turn over the flush". This type of talk will kill you. Opponents notice these small hitches. If they do not notice it when when observing you. Their subconcious mind will surely notice the hitch and will play the hand accordingly. Positive self talk will stop this problem. It is easier to say to yourself "it is doubtful that he will make the flush" so bet it aggressively. Be positive in your approach to the game. Do not complain when losing as opponents my start taking any two cards against you making your decisions tougher. Opponents must not be aware of any type of weakness. Top professional players do not care about losing last night or the night before. They want to know what they are up to right now hear at the table. Make it a winning habit of yours.
