Tuesday January 23rd Unlawful Discrimination in housing, accommodations, health and social welfare agencies based on sexual orientation and other minority statuses. William Hamlin - The Baltimore Community Relations Commission.
Tuesday, Feb 26th Stigma: Stereotypes and Discrimination Against People Using Mental Health Services and How to Resist It by Dr. Alicia Lucksted. We'll talk about what stigma is, how it hurts people, and (most importantly) how to reduce its harmful effects in our lives and our communities.
Tuesday March 27th Addictions, sexuality, and mental health –understanding the relationship between addictive behaviors and sexuality, sexual functioning, and mental health (presenter to be determined)
Tuesday April 24th Complementary therapies - optimizing your mental health Theraputic massage, acupuncture, and other mind/body therapies will be explored as ways to enhance your mental health.
Tuesday, May 29th Creative arts as therapy- a rainbow of expression . Hearts & Ears member artists will discuss the relationship between creative art and mental health, and exhibit their work.
Tuesday June 26th Creating a supportive family; strategies for increasing communication between your biological family, and/or your adult “family of choice” ie: friends and significant others. (presenter to be determined)
