Additional Grant Funding: We have received additional funding from the North Star Fund in New York City to begin a consumer advocay project beginning in September.

We hold a Dual Recovery Anonymous (DBA)  meeting on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. To learn more about DBA plase see http://www.draonline.org/. All GLBTQ individuals with mental health and addiction issues are invited to attend.

We are delighted to announce that Hearts & Ears, Inc and Equality Maryland  have formed a partnership so that Equality Maryland will now have a Baltimore-Based location in our Drop In Center for organizational activities beginning in July. We will now better be able to advocate for our GLBTQ members.

GLBT, hiv positive or AIDS defined, uninsured,and need free mental health treatment? Hearts & Ears, in partnership with Project PLASE, offers referrals for free mental health services available through a Ryan White Title ll grant to anyone who has HIV or AIDS  and who does not have insurance.Click on the triangle to your left for further information  more current news

Hours of Operation
Our Drop In & Resource Center, located at  
10 West Biddle Street,Suite 1F, Baltimore,MD. 21201,  
is open from 4 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays,  and
Sunday from 1 -6 p.m.

You are invited to come to the Center anytime between 4 and 9 pm, socialize, watch TV, read a good book, or just visit. At present we offer some planned activities as well:

Dual Recovery Anonymous meeting on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm
consumer planned activity on Tuesdays from 4-6:30 and 7:30-8:30 pm
 Support group onThursdays from 6:30-7:30pm
Art & Crafts/recreational activity on Saturdays from 4:30-6pm.
movie/game night on Saturdays from 6:30-8:30 pm.
social and other activities on Sundays from 1-6 p.m.

This is an opportunity for  group members to share their thoughts, ideas, and feedback as to how Hearts & Ears, Inc can better serve the needs of the GLBT consumer.

Meet Our Staff   Renae Sewell - Renae is our Director of Programs. She oversees the Hearts & Ears office, devlops and oversees all of our programs, provides commmunity education, coordinates community events, and overses the drop-in-center.
Phill Hans - Phill is our Administrator and handles all of the "behind the scenes" accounting, regulatory compliance, and business processes.
Andy Zipay LSWA- Andy is our Activities Coordinator
Damien Frierson MSW- Damien is our volunteer support group facilitator and he is also the Director of Outreach & Education for Equality Maryland

Crisis Hotline

Hearts & Ears maintains a "warmline" which is not an emergeny crisis line.You are welcome to call us at 410-528-0444 when we are open. If we are not available, leave a message and we will get back to you as quickly as we can. If you need to talk with a hotline volunteer call Grassroots, a multi-service crisis intervention center providing 24-hour crisis intervention services, shelter, transitional housing, and community education.Crisis intervention program services are available to anyone in need 24-hours a day, 7days a week.
