Referral Associations

National Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists - Maryland referral list

There are many mental health practitioners who advertise as "GLBT Affirmative" or who have Gay/Lesbian issues listed as part of their practice specialties.  You can find a mental health professional listed as such through many Internet referral services such as Find-a Therapist  and  Psychology Today Referral Service, or check the phone book for a referral. In all cases ASK the mental helth professional if they are GLBT affirmative and if they are familiar with GLBT resources in your area.
