North American Hunting Adventures
Let us probe the silent places,
          let us seek what luck betides us;
   Let us journey to a lonely land I know.
There's a whisper on the night wind,
          there's a star agleam to guide us,
   And the Wild is calling, calling . . . let us go.

Places I've Been
Hunts in North America include elk in the River of No Return Wilderness of Idaho during the rut, caribou near Kuujjuac in northern Quebec, moose and Dall's sheep in the Talkeetna Mountains of central Alaska, and Rocky Mountain goat in the Cariboos of central British Columbia.  Also various spring bear hunts in Ontario, one ending with a 'Booner', assorted local whitetail deer hunts and a few trips to Manitoba for hundreds of ducks and geese.

The Biggest
A black bear I took in southern Ontario scored 20 2/16 ranking 33rd in SCI.and making Boone and Crockett.
The Best
My all time favorite hunt has got to be the 10 days I spent in Alaska in the fall of 1998.  The weather was terrible and after taking an SCI book moose on the first day, I endured for 9 days to take my Dall's sheep on the last day of the hunt in high winds and clouds.

Hunting Tips
Get in shape and make your own luck - in other words - the more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in combat.  Oh yea, staying downwind seems to help a lot, too.
