This is The Arriola San Bernardino, Ca. Branch. I do

The name "Arriola" comes from
tha Basque People. There is an
Arriola Village in the Basque
Country. I know the ships built
for the Spanish Armada was a
shipbuilder Joan Arriola. (male)
My father's Y-DNA is Haplogroup
Rb1 Western European this group
survived the last ice age 10,000
years ago. The Celts and the
Basque People have similar DNA.
The main diseases the Basque
People have are Ankylosing
Spondylitis, Diabetes and
Parkinson's.

In San Bernardino, CA there are more Arriola
cousins, they are from the daughter's of Remedio
and Maria Mejia. With their mother's last name
listed last they are: Cortez Arriola, Juarez Arriola
Reyes Arriola. The first name is the father's last
name.

Ysabel Arriola my grandfather's sister married
Juan Rivera that family settled in Los Angeles
 in 1908.Today their youngest daughter Eloisa is
stll living at the age of  81.

Remigio Arriola Veles married

on 4/03/1875.

Remigio age 16 and Dolores
age 14. They had four children
Remedio, Ysabel, Augustine
and Jesusita Arriola. My
Grandfather is Augustin, the boy
with the book. Sister Ysabel,
brother Remedio, mother Dolores,
father Remigio, sister-in-law
Maria Mejia and sister Jesusita.

We are descendents of Francisco  
& Eduardo Arriola, brothers
who had the 3000 acres in
Texas. The land was given to
them by Santa Ana.

My great grandfather's name was Jose Juan N. Remegio chr Oct 2 1858. His father was Silverio Arriola
 and his mother was Petra Veles. Remigio was born in Pueblo Nuevo GTO Mexico. Another son was

Augustin and Rosa with his sister Ysabel and her husband Juan Rivera left Abasolo in 1907. With Ysabel's help Augustin really kidnapped my grandmother. They went to Flagstaff Az working for the railroad. Manuel their first son was born in Flagstaff in 1908. Ysabel and Juan went to the City of the Angel's...Los Angeles. Augustin and Rosa went on to Gallop NM., there Francisca was born 1910. Then off to El Monte Ca Lupe was born 1914. Finally Augustin met up with his older brother Remedio in San Bernardino the family settled for good. Jose born 1916, Augustin Jr. 1919, Jesus born 1921, Alberta born 1923 and Adrian 1926. The  first generation was born in the USA  except for three Consuelo, Luz and Sahara a total of 19.

My generation the second has 54. This year 2000, my Aunt Frances and Uncle Ralph Garcia were married 70 years. Frances is 93 years, Uncle Ralph passed away at the age of 91. Jose 88, Jesus 83, Alberta 80 and Adrian 77. Frances alone has 101 desendents all total for Augustin and Rosa 270 desendents. With Remedio and Ysabel's we total 976.

In 1907 Mexico was in turmoil because of the Mexican Revolution, My Grand Father's sister Jesusita was taken away and was never seen from again. Guanajuato has always been the main focus in Mexican politics. These family members were fleeing for their lives.   livesor their lives.
