Hello,This is Max. My baby iggy. Who is my pride and joy. I'm not sure how old Max is. I am not the original owner of Max. When Max was given to me, he was very sick although he didn't show it. He was suffering from MBD. He never had the proper lighting and diet. So He I go with my iggy endevour.
About a 2 1/2weeks after I got Max. We were letting him go for a swim in the tub. And well, while swimming, Max got spooked and ended up breaking his arm trying to climb theside of the tub.
Well, after 12 hours(because it was very late on a Sat. night)and many tears later, we were able to find a vet to check him out. Well, here we got the bad news and found out how bad Max really was from the neglect he had prior to us getting him. Max did not even weigh an ounce, his blood work was fine but only because of those 2 weeks of the right food and lighting. The doc told us he was lucky we got him when we did. They had to place a cast on poor little Max. (PICTURES BELOW) Which is a sin considering the cast weighed more then him. It took him a whole month to get used to walking with it, and when he was used to it, it was time to take it off. The cast ordeal was not really fun for either of us, as his bones harden up they formed to the cast, so his breathing was hampered and his eating too.There was many a nights of no sleeping and many of night of crying because of the pain he had to go through, but we both made it out alive. Now my little bundle of reptilian joy is doing great. Eating like a pig, growing like a weed and making new friends in the house. Just please if you know anyone who is thinking about getting an iggy, please tell them to do the research first. Buying one is easy, making sure they are taken care of the right way is the hard part, and iggy shouldnt have to suffer because someone wanted a show piece in a cage. They need alot to keep them healthy and happy.
