About the Artist

As a freelance artist, I enjoy working with many media of art. I have an extensive background in the art field. I first began drawing at the age of four. By the time I was a teen, I had submitted several pieces of art to the Warren Art League in Warren, Pennsylvania, winning several blue ribbons and always taking nothing less than an honorable mention. In 1976, one of my pieces titled, "Garden of the World, not only won first place, but also made the front page of the local newspaper in an article about the Art League. When I was 21, I began trying my hand at painting with oils and to date have left my "mark" on everything from furniture to handsaws! I have sold several pieces of artwork over the years. I was also employed for a time with a local nursing home to handmake all of their Thank You and Sympathy cards. (Which actually was my inspiration to embark on this little venture!) In November of 2000 I was named "Person of the Week" in the Tribune Democrat in Johnstown, Pa. for my volunteer work in creating a 3-D, lighted, Vintage Chritmas village Mural for five consecutive years for the elderly in an elderly care facility. Over the past couple of years, you may have seen a lot of my work in the magazines: The Rubber Stamper, Rubber Stamp Madness, Vamp Stamp News and Scrap and Stamp Arts. My work has also been featured in the "Project of the Week" on the Rubber Makers Organization site. I truly enjoy drawing and am delighted to be a part of this new and exciting market! I have met many interesting and wonderful people in the stamping and scrapbooking industry! I have made a lot of new friends while working with the various companies and it has been a real pleasure learning new things everyday about the businesses of rubber stamping and scrapbooking!
