2008 WILD WEST MOD TOUR HAS STARTED

Tour stops 4,5. & 6 the Nevada swing. I am not sure i can recall all the events of the weekend so i might get a few details mixed up.!!!
Affer a long trip to Winnemucca, Nevada we landing at a kinda cool track at the edge of the earth (Have to admit the track people was some of the best and friendlest people around) We draw bad for the heat, ran 3rd in it for a pole start in the B main, But i noticed the car didnt get much rpm. After looking around a found a poly lock came off and i was running on 7 holes. I didnt want to start in the rear w/ the back up car so i pulled the rockers from the bad hole and went racing..I won the B hummm
The main was ok i just finished 1 spot ahead of where i started but i was happy just to make the main that day.
day 2 Battle Mountain ( track looked like Alamosa ) With help from Enos Ruble and John Mc Cormick we had the car on all 8 again . We drew bad again BACK ROW... ran decent for a 4th place finish ( i think) then i ran the b where i finished 2nd w/ some good racing to stay ahead of the point leader ww1. then the main i started somewhere around 19th? I had a decent run till 1/2 way then the car kinda lit up.. and i was passing cars... Then i was racing hard w/ the points leader again. This time it was not so easy I either had a push or he was pinning me down and we rubbed for a few laps then it got intenese I thought about just forgetting this pass but since i was faster i hung in there giving no quarters. I finailly got clear. Then all hell broke loose! not sure if he was pissed or racing me hard but i got hit hard a bunch untill i got spun and crashed taking my buddy Mc Cormick out in the mean time. Normally i would back off if the battle gets intense like that but I came to race and felt i was the faster car ( for once) Guess will do something different next go around. I not sure if i was in error or the other driver was too agressive but it takes 2 to tangle eh? so i was out for a 18th place finish w/ no right front suspension. BTW the other car won... maybe this was my oppurtunity to win one??
between day 2 and 3 Joe Carr and his son Cameron helped me work on the car, the sun came up and we was finished.....!!!!
day 3 Elko, Nevada wow what a small track! was like Rocky Mtn speedway but would fit inside it.. but it was the best run of all the three. So we unloaded and packed the track and then i noticed i had a miss..... oh boy another rocker off the other side.. you would think i would of check both sides saturday morning wouldnt you?? so i just parked the car and unloaded the ole HOT. Drew 191 this time .... another back row start. I ran 4th in the heat for a pole start in the B main . in that i got 2nd for a 19th place start... The ole car ran good... i got up to 3rd when i felt something amiss in the rear and with 2 laps to go the left wheel and hub fell off.......... long weekend...... finished 14th ... if only if only if only .
so after i long weekend we headed home to have yet another blowout on the hwy in Salt lake .. But did enjoy the people, seeing a place i never been too and tracks that was kinda cool... dont want to move there but i'd go back to race ...not soon I am about out of parts / tires and fuel and past being out of money Not sure i can finish tour but am heading to Price for the next stop 4/5 july I like that place good people good racing and semi close..
