Meet Lindy Duncan
Born in Canada Lindy moved to California with her family at an early age. She has been drawing and painting since childhood and exhibited an early aptitude for art in many forms. After High school and College Lindy became a flight attendant with Trans World Airlines. Lindy and her husband Dennis have two sons and currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. Later while working in real estate sales, taking art classes and workshops gave her the ability to develop her skills as an artist until she felt she could devote herself to a full time career in art. Now able to paint full time she feels incredibly fortunate. “I have a great love of nature so plein air painting is the perfect melding of art and nature for me. Also, I feel compelled to record the fast changing landscape and beauty that we enjoy today for the generations to come”. Travels to Europe and China have broadened her subject matter, which now include Figurative, Landscape and Stillife.
Lindy’s paintings have won numerous awards including the 2001 The Best and Brightest Competition First Place Oil Scottsdale, AZ., 2001 Plein Air Tucson Painting Events Best Color Award, Best Pattern and Texture Award, and Judges Favorite Award. Best of Show at the Art at the Classic, Honorable mention at the San Juan Capistrano and many other awards.
Lindy is an Artist Member of the California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Painters, Oil Painters of America, International Impressionist Society, and Signature Member of Alla Prima International and a founding member of En Couleur.
