It takes a special kind of athelete to make my monthly pick; Some of the atheletes chosen are well celebrated, while others may be somewhat up-and-coming, virtually anonymous. Regardless, each athelete that makes my page is exceptional and muliti-faceted in in talent and disposition.


Danny Graves is my featured major-leaguer of the moment; I think he's a fearless pitcher, throwing 1st pitch fastballs to big hitters in the clutch and a deceptivley mean sinker make "doughboy" the one to watch next season. He's a class act in a sport of houligans---a true pro with a stellar future ahead. Graves, Reyes and Williamson make for a well rounded bullpen this season and I'm looking forward to seeing a strong Reds performance this year. Stay healthy and watch the cream puffs in the off-season....Love Ya, Gravy!

I can find something redeeming in just about any sport on the planet. Team sports utilize our innate abilities to work together as a unit to succeed, no matter how trivial the task. Keep in mind that these are just games---games played for fun bringing out the healthy competitive spirit in us all. Don't fall prey to the slant of the media--read your boxscore and don't get too caught up in the DRAMA of it all, no matter how tempting it may be. Pro atheletes are human; Some of them living their lives under a microscope, mostly due to the demands of thier fans. Enjoy these games for what they truly are and be smart enough to make your own decisions! Peace Out.....
