Grave Markers

South on Rt. 13, below Fast Landing Road (Rt. 42), you will come to Rt. 100. Turning west and crossing the RR tracks will bring you to Fork Branch Church. It is a small church , built on land that belonged originally to William Hansor , a farm he called Jolley's Neck in 1735.

Behind the church are some of the oldest graves. Unfortuantely the woods have encroached on the site and many of the markers are gone. Most of the graves are now located across the road. This church was once used almost exclusively by members of the mixed blood Cheswold community but, for many years now, it has belonged to a black congregation which maintains the graveyard.
