Jesse Dean was the son of Robert Dean and Catherine Morgan . He was born in Kent Co., DE on 20 July, 1858. Sometime before 1878, he married Sarah SEENEY. After Sarah's death he married Susan SAMMONS, daughter of Benjamin Sammons and Lydia Munce.

He appeared in the Orphans Court records on the estate of his deceased father when a guardian had to be appointed.

In the 1880 Kenton Hundred , Kent Co. census, Jesse was found living with Sarah, Ernest , his father-in-law, James Seeney (age 57) and 2 brothers-in law, John (age 30) and Joseph (age 11).

In the Kent Co. Deeds (Liber U, Vol. 17) for 17 December, 1895 recording the sale of lands once owned by Robert Dean, Jesse is shown living in Kent Co., DE.

Jesse died 12 August, 1931 and is buried at Immanuel Union (Manship) Church in Cheswold., DE. The grave marker is engraved -Jesse Dean (1858-1931). Buried nearby are E.C. Dean (son Ernest Clarence ?), S. A. Dean (wife Sarah???) and Edward and Laura Carter (no dates).

His death certificate lists his age as "73" , his race as "Moor".
