Catherine Morgan was born 27 December, 1833. Her father was John Morgan , a member of the Kent Co., mixed blood community.

In the 1850 Dover Hundred, Kent Co. census records we find Catherine (age 16, born in DE) but she is not living with her parents. Nearby we find John Morgan (age 34) living with his wife Mary (age 32) and no children so it is possible that these were Catherine's parents.

Sometime before 1852 Catherine married Robert Dean . She and Robert had the following children :

After the death of her first husband, Robert Dean, on 30 September,1874, Catherine remarried, William CARNEY.

Catherine died near Beresford in Kent Co. DE on 23 May, 1894. Her death certificate lists her age as 63 years, her race as "white" and the cause of death as "complications". She is buried next to her first husband at Immanuel Union (Manship) Church in Cheswold.
