DRUMMER FOR LIFE!
Jackie Daniels
It's unknown when JACKIE DANIELS started pounding the skins, but it's a fact that his first public performance was at age 8, with the Terry Cox Revue at Tropical Elementary Auditorium for a talent contest voted on by the entire school. As vague memory serves, the songs were House of the Rising Sun and Wipeout. The band got 3rd prize. His first drum set was a Rogers and he then moved on to a double bass Ludwig set (red sparkle) by the age of 12. He started out in school band in 6th grade at Jefferson Jr. High (the first year they let 6th grade punks into Jr. High School).
He was on the road at the age of 16 when he took off to the Carolinas for a commercial rock tour with Mike Holt & the Audience. He settled in Brevard where he played with many respected bands Wizard, Touch, Tight Shoes and others. Original music became a passion as influences like Kansas, Yes and Tull ruled the world of rock.
JACKIE DANIELS had a little luck running into a few major players who he was honored to jam with along the way. Rummor has it that @ Nort's LaScene (Cocoa Beach) Elephant's Memory (John Lennon's Back-up Band) stopped by for a shocking free performance (they had played the Orlando Sports Stadium the night before) and needed a drummer. J.D. was there--got his kit---and played a 2 hour jam show with the boys. He also played with Billy Cox (Jimi Hendrix), Les Dudek and Strawberry Alarm Clock for the track record. He received his greatest compliment from Billy Cox, who stated, "You are the closest thing to Mitch Mitchell I think I've heard. Where did you come from, man?"
JACKIE'S help on stage was inmeasurable, now he's a jet for LIFE.
