Assessor In Prospect, Dies
Henry M. Taylor, 87, of
Prospect, tax assessor of Prospect Borough for 33 years, died at 2 a.m.
yesterday in his home, after a lingering illness. He has lived for about 50
years in Prospect, where he was a dairyman and potato farmer. Surviving are his
wife, Mrs. Lillie Hines Taylor; two sons, Clarence F. Taylor and Russell
L. Taylor, both of Prospect; for daughters, Mrs. William (Violet) Kroll of
Conoquenessing, Mrs. Ralph (Myrtle) Moore of Ellwood City and Mrs.
Edward (Jewel) Eckert and Mrs. Robert ( Wilma) Kniess, both of
Prospect; 34 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
TAYLOR- Friends of Henry M. Taylor of Prospect, who died Sunday,
April 23, 1961, will be received at the Pyle Funeral Home, Prospect, from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday from the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas M. Hogg, pastor of
the United Presbyterian Church of Prospect, officiating. Burial will be in Crown
Hill Cemetery, Prospect. Arrangements by Pyle.

MRS. LILLIE TAYLOR (The Butler Eagle, May 25, 1964)
Mrs. Lillie Hinds Taylor, 88 of Prospect, died at 8:15
p.m. Saturday at Butler County Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1876, in
Slippery Rock, the daughter of the late James and Sarah Cornelius
Hinds. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of
Prospect. Her husband, Henry Melvin Taylor, died April 23, 1961.
Surviving are two sons, Clarence at home and Russell of Prospect;
four daughters, Mrs. William (Violet) Kroll of Conoquenssing, Mrs.
Ralph (Myrtle) Moore of Ellwood City, Mrs. Edward (Jewel ) Eckert of
Prospect, and Mrs. R. Blair (Wilma) Kniess of Prospect; a brother, Will
Hinds of Florida; 34 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
TAYLOR- Friends of Mrs. Lillie Hinds Taylor of Prospect, who died
Saturday, May 23, 1964, will be received at the Jay Bryan Funeral Home,
Prospect, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2
p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home, with the Rev. Ernest B. Lawrence,
officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect. Arrangements by Bryan.

L. TAYLOR (The Butler Eagle, Nov. 23)
Russell L. Taylor, 63, of Prospect R.D. 1, died at 2:45 p.m. yesterday at
Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lingering illness. Born Sept 22, 1913, he
was the son of the late Henry M. and Lillian Hines Taylor. He was
retired from Pullman Standard. He was a member of the United Church, Prospect.
Surviving are his wife, Lena Stephenson Taylor, whom he married Nov. 8,
1939, four sons, Robert of 113 Andrews Trace, Butler, Richard of
431 Unionville Road, Donald of Portersville R.D. 2 and Thomas of
120 Isle Road, eight grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. William (Violet)
Kroll of Renfrew, Mrs. Myrtle Moore of Ellwood City, Mrs. Jewell
Eckert of Prospect R. D. 1 and Mrs. Robert ( Wilma) Kniess of
Prospect. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
TAYLOR- Friends of Russell L. Taylor of Prospect R. D. 1 who died
Monday, Nov. 22, 1976 will be received at the Pyle-Raisley Funeral Home,
Prospect, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and
from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from
the funeral home, with the Rev. Vernon Holstad, pastor of the First
United Presbyterian Church, Portersville, officiating. Burial will be in Crown
Hill Cemetery, Prospect. Arrangements by Pyle Raisley.

OBITUARY: DENNIS P. THEISS (Clarion News, Nov. 5, 1974)
Dennis P. Theiss, 86, of Fisher Road, Strattanville, died
Nov. 2, 1974, in Franklin Hospital. Born Oct. 14, 1888, at Fisher, he was
a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Jane Steiner Theiss. He was
married July 7, 1907, to the former Rhoda Jane Miles, who died in 1970.
Mr. Theiss was a retired mine worker. Surviving are two sons, Arthur
of Pittsburgh and Donald of Gibsonia; five daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Allene)
Knabb, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Johnson and Mrs. James (Maxine) Neal of
Strattanville, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Summerville of Clarion and Mrs.
Raymond (Betty) McNaughton of Tempe, Ariz.; 22 grandchildren; 41
great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Hazel
Scheid of Springdale and Mrs. Helen Redman of Akron, Ohio, and one
brother, Lancey Theiss of Strattanville. Funeral services were at 2
p.m. Tuesday (today) from the Gerald L. Globle Funeral Home in Clarion
with the Rev. Charles Reynolds officiating. Burial was in
Stratanville Cemetery.

county, Anna Marie Thompson, aged 54 years, 2 months and 23 days
OBITUARY: PIONEER RESIDENT OF WETMORE DIES
Another of the pioneer residents of this section, David
Thompson, aged 77 years, of Wetmore, was summoned by death at his home
in that place at 3 o'clock this morning, death resulting from
complications and the infirmities of age. The deceased was born in
Lucinda, Clarion county, 1851, and while a young man took up his residence in
this vicinity, being engaged for the most part until a few years ago, in the
duties of a woodsman, in ill health for the past two years, little hopes were
held for his recovery when taken seriously ill eight weeks ago. The deceased is
survived by his wife, Lydia Thompson and five children, George,
of Kane; Robert and Lloyd, of Akron, Ohio; Mrs.
Pearl Lamper and Sadie Thompson, of Wetmore;
two foster brothers; Phillip Zerbe, of Smethport; and Rankin
Zerbe of Parkerburg, W. Van two foster sisters, Mrs.
Tina Burdick of Barnes and Mrs. Anna Tremaine of
Warren; and eight grandchildren Funeral services will be held at the home,
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock the Rev. Samuel Southern, of the
Baptist church ,Kane, officiating. Interment will be made in Forest Lawn
cemetery.
OBITUARY: IN MEMORIAM MR. JOHN
TROUTNER (Clarion Democrat, Thursday December 12, 1895)
Mr. John Troutner was born near Syracuse, N. Y.
May 21, 1822. He departed this life at his home near Tylersburg, Pa., Nov.
27, 1895. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Tylersburg.
He was united in marriage June 20, 1852, to Miss Mary E. Gilford.
He suffered very much during his short illness, which was but one week and two
days, but passed peacefully away. His funeral was attended by a large
concourse of friends, but on account of the serious illness of his wife and
youngest daughter, there was no service held, but as soon as they recover their
health there will be a sermon preached in memory of the deceased at Tylersburg.
Besides his widow, he leaves eight children, namely James L.,
of Tylersburg; W. B. of Portland, Ore.; E. C.,
of San Francisco, Cal.; G. T., of Depew N.Y.; Mrs. A.
J. Beatty, Clarion, Pa., Mrs. W. E. Dewait, of
Pleasantville, Pa., and Misses Lodema and Jennie,

OBITUARY: Charles B. TURNEY
Charles B. Turney Dies ;Rites are Monday. Funeral
services for Charles B. TURNEY ,85, who died at his home at
1303 East Eight on Friday morning will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in First
Christian Church with Rev. Bill Imoff, Pastor officiating . He
will be assisted by Rev.Homer Musgrove of the First Grace
Assembly Church. Mr . Turney was born in Rimersburg ,Pa. March
17,1885 . He was retired drilling contractor, he came to Chelsa Indian Territory
from McDonald PA. in 1907 and Okmulgee in 1910 . He had been ill for this past
year, he was a member of the First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge No 199,Order
of the Elke, Commandery no 25 and the Akdar Temple of Shrine Tulsa,Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife Viola of the home ,one stepson,Merton
Hilliard,Palm Springs, Calf. a step daughter Mrs Brenda Blance,
Okmulgee , two sisters Mrs Ray Spohn of Jewett,Ohio and Mrs
Hugh Morrow of Salem ,Ohio. Graveside rites will be conducted by the
Masonic Lodge and lodge members will serve as pallbearers. Buchanan
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clfford T. Turney, 82,retired Muskogee Water Department
empolye, died Friday at Muskogee General Hospital. Funeral services will be held
at 2p.m. Monday in Trinity Methodist Church with Rev. L. Paul Green,
pastor ,officiating. Full Masonic rites will be conducted at graveside in
Greenhill Cemetery. Master Mason will be at the lodge at 1;15
p.m. and act as pallbearers. Turney , of 520 North Cherokee, a
resident of Muskogee for 64 years was a member of Trinty Methodist Church,
Masonic Lodge number 430,Royal Arch Masons, Chapter # Three, Muskogee Comandery
Two, Knights Templar, and Royal and Select Masters , Council Two. Bradley
Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements. Survivors include his wife ,Lille
D. of the home ; two sons George A. Turney of Chicago,
Illinois, and Clifford Jr. of Dallas Texas; five daughters Mrs
D. E. Logan of Dumas, Texas, Mrs Martha Lee of Laurel,
Maryland, Mrs Jack Stevens of Oklahoma City, Mrs.
Rogers Burch of Tulsa Oklahoma, Mrs Ray Wick of Los
Angeles, Calf, two step-sons Kennith Parker, and Ralph
Parker, both of Muskogee, 15 grand children, 22 great grandchildren, a
brother Charles Burton Turney of Okmulgee, two sisters Mrs.
Hugh Morrow of Mount Vernon Ohio and Mrs. Ray
Spohn of Jewett, Ohio Clifford Tremont was born in
Clarion County Oct 7 1886 moved to McDonald Pa. moved to Muskogee Oklahoma in
1914.
