Carmel Valley Village is just a little country village with few amenities. A major bank with an ATM machine is about the only concession to modern life. If you need to put food on the table, you need to visit one of the village's two or three small markets, such as this one on Carmel Valley Road. The nearest supermarket is about eight miles west in the Mid Valley Shopping Center.
