He married KEZIAH OWEN November 16, 1816 in Clark Co., Kentucky, daughter of JOHN OWEN and ABIGALE CULLOM. She was born 1795 in Clark Co., KY., and died 1867 in Montgomery Co., IN..
Notes for RICHARD CRUTCHFIELD:
He is said to be an heir of Nicholas Crutchfield on a 1837 Deed came to Indiana and purchased land in Putman Co., In. on April 20,1826, 85.9 acres. His brother- in- law, Francis Owen purchased 85 acres right next to his on the same date. They probably traveled to Indiana from Clark Co., Ky. together. They had about 7 small children between them and they also had an older lady who came with them. This lady is on the 1830 Putman Co., In. census living with Richard and Keziah, age 60 and under 70. She is not on the 1840 census with them. 1820 Clark Co., Ky. census, Benjamin Norman is living next door to Richard and Keziah. In 1830 in Putman Co., In. Francis Owen lives on one side of them and Thomas Norman on the other. Thomas is the same age as Richard and Francis. Thomas was married to Sarah Davis as they are listed in the Forgey Cemetery in Russellville, In. Says Thomas was born March 3, 1800 and died April 10,1855 or 1885. I can check this with censuses later. Sarah Davis Norman was born Feb.3, 1798 and died Dec. 15, 1876. Richard and Keziah had 11 children.3 were on the census with Keziah in 1850. They were Keziah, age 22, Mahala, age 20, William, age 16. Mary Ann was married to Hiram in 1850. Her death certificate verify that Richard and Keziah were her parents. John is their son,as Keziah made him her Power of Attorney and says he is her son. Also, Keziah is living with John in 1860 Parke Co., IN. census, age 65, she is also buried with John. There was a Hezekiah Crutchfield that married Elizabeth Holeman in Parke Co., In. on May 27, 1844. Keziah had a brother Hezekiah. Also a Susan Crutchfield married a Pratt. Keziah's grandma was Susannah Northcraft Cullom. She also had an Aunt Susannah Cullom Browning. On Nov. 7, 1834 Richard transferred 10 acres to the Russellville Trustees for a burying ground. This may be when the Older woman died as she is not on 1840 census with them.
Notes for KEZIAH OWEN:
From Deed Book# 33 , pg 346 in Clark Co., KY. , I have a document were Keziah is giving power of Attorney to her son, John Crutchfield. She says " I , Keziah Crutchfield of Putman County in the state of Indiana { late Keziah Owen and daughter of John Owen and Abigail Owen his wife , both late of Clark Co. in the state commonwealth of Kentucky, deceased and widow of Richard Crutchfield, late of said Putman Co., IN., deceased, have made son, John Crutchfield, of the county of Putman in said state of Indiana, my lawful attorney." This was on Sept. 13, 1847.

Children of RICHARD CRUTCHFIELD and KEZIAH OWEN are:
i. FEMALE3 CRUTCHFIELD.
ii. FEMALE CRUTCHFIELD, b. 1817, Kentucky; d. Bef. 1904.
Notes for FEMALE CRUTCHFIELD:
She is on the 1820 Clark Co., Ky. census, age under 10. As Keziah and Richard didn't marry until Nov. of 1816, I'm guessing her to be born in 1817 as John was born 1819, according to his tombstone, and Nicholas was born 1818 or 1819. She is also on the 1830 as 10-15 and the 1840 as 20-30.
iii. NICHOLAS CRUTCHFIELD, b. 1818, Winchester, Clark Co., KY.; d. 1881, Putman Co., IN.; m. (1) CYNTHIA ANN SPENCER, October 19, 1844, Parke Co., IN.; b. October 06, 1825, Montgomery Co., IN.; d. Notes for NICHOLAS CRUTCHFIELD:
Found him in Green Township, Parke Co., IN. in Parke Co. Atlas, resident, section 19, farmer, navity, Clark Co., KY., went to Parke Co. in 1871. I will try to find him on census. he may be buried in The Spencer Family Cemetery, their is a list that George Spencer transcribed and for #17 he put " N - this is not a smooth square cut stone, nor is it a common field stone. It has a well cut " N" in the upper left corner, but any other letters would be pure speculation by me. " I found him on 1870 Putman Co., IN. census: Crutchfield, Nicholas, 51, born KY., Eliza, 44, born IN., Watson, Martha J., 6, born Iowa. I am starting to think that maybe Nicholas and John were twins, as I found Nicholas, age 51 on 1870, and John, 41, on the 1860.

Notes for JOHN CRUTCHFIELD:
On 1860 census living in Parke Co., Greene Township, Parkeville{ now extinct}, IN. The closest city to this now is Milligan, IN., which is about 3 houses and a closed-up restaurant. Crutchfield, John, 41, farmer, $4,000, $1,000., born KY., Martha, 31, born KY., Sarah, 8, born IN., James R., 6, born IN., Andrew, 2, born, IN., Keziah, 65, born KY. So Keziah was living with John before she died. They must of moved to Waveland, IN. before 1867, as they are all buried in the old Methodist Church Yard. His son's obits say he was an active worker in the Methodist Church in Waveland. This building is now Waveland Community Building. The sign in the front of church says it was built 1862 and dedicated 1869. Tragedy hit this family in 1862 when they lost their 2 year old daughter, Ida Annie. In 1866 Martha gave birth to another little girl, named after her, Martha Ann. Martha died about one month after giving birth and little Martha Ann died 2 weeks later at about 6 weeks old. Sometime in 1867 John lost his mother, Keziah, who was living with him. They are all buried in the Old Methodist Church Cemetery. He then married Elizabeth Hylton, probably after the death of his mother. John and Elizabeth are also buried in the Old Methodist Church Cemetery. Sarah was 16, James was 13, Andrew was 10, and Lavina was 5 when John married Elizabeth. John had one other child, but I don't know the name right now. He has a will on file in Parke Co., IN., names his beloved wife, Elizabeth, 40 acres of his property, one horse and buggy, and all household goods, except one bed and bedding. To daughter, Vina S. , one bedstead, bed and bedding, one horse and one hundred dollars in money. To son, Andrew, the sum of one hundred dollars. He directs that the rest of his land be sold. The remainder to be divided between my 4 children, Vina S. Crutchfield, Andrew B. Crutchfield, James R. Crutchfield, and Sarah E. Ware. His birth and death date is on his tombstone, I have a picture of his tombstone.

The last few years of her life she was a great sufferer but she bore it with fortitude and patience until death came to her relief. Notes for HIRAM NATHANIEL DAVIS:
Hiram was in civil war. He enlisted on Oct. 22,1862 in Company F, 54 Indiana Volunteers , as a private, commanded by Caption Nuff. He was discharged on Dec 8,1863. He was injured near Black River in Mississippi. He was out foraging and he fell off of a wagon , striking on his left shoulder, throwing it out of place, which so disabled him that he was unfit for service the rest of his term. This was on his pension form. the person who told this says he was there and witnessed it. I can not read his name as it is sloppy writing but it looks like John Chapman. Hiram says that near a place called Vicksburg in Mississippi on the seventh of Aug, 1863 while out with a foraging party he fell while getting off a wagon load of corn and the hind wheel of the wagon ran over his hips, straighten them apart and badly injuring him, at same time he contracted diarrhea. He received hospital treatment in a convalescent camp somewhere in Georgia, I can't read the writing of where in Georgia. A third witness, James Ballard says he was Hiram's bunkmate, and that he fell off wagon striking his left shoulder, and that he remained with the company but was in the convalescent care until his time expired. Said he had seen Hiram a few times since and he still complained of his shoulder pain. Hiram applied for pension on Nov 6,1875. Mary applied for his pension on June 21,1889. Hiram has a cross to his honor at Ladoga Cemetery and is also named on the Civil war Memorial in the entrance to the Ladoga Cemetery.
Journal Review, Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN.; June, 1898- Death of Hiram Davis, Died June 14, 1898; The death of Hiram Davis Tuesday Evening was a great surprise to his friends and neighbors. Mr. Davis had been in both Ladoga and Roachdale Monday, and though he complained of being sick Monday evening , his condition was not thought to be at all alarming, but within twenty-four hours from that time he died of heart trouble. A short funeral service was held at Wesley Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.V. Carter of the Baptist Church, an interment was made in the Wesley Cemetery, the ceremonies at the grave being conducted by the G. A. R., when the G. A. R. post was organized here Mr. Davis petitioned for membership, and paid his fee. His petition was favorable voted upon, and a date was fixed for the initiation or mustering of Mr. Davis , but he was never able to come to town at the time set, so he was not a member of the post, but he was so nearly one that the entire membership of the post attended his funeral. Two or three days before the end came Mr. Davis decided that he had but a short time to live. He gave his wife a detailed account of his business affairs, left to her his entire property during her lifetime, and gave directions concerning his burial. He was in his 73rd year, and was one of our pioneer citizens, industrious and highly respected. Hiram N. Davis was born in Jennings county, Indiana , Feb. 15, 1825, and was married to Mary A. Crutchfield , June 30, 1850; six sons and four daughters were born to them and all but one daughter is still living. In early life Mr. Davis united with Missionary Baptist Church and after his marriage he associated himself with the M.E. Church. In the last war he was a member of Co. F, 54th Ind. Vol.
