About Accomplished Author Janet Edgar
Award-winning inspirational author, Janet Edgar, announces the sale of her debut book, THE INN AT SHADOW LAKE to Steeple Hill's new romantic suspense line, Love Inspired Suspense.
"THE INN is a thrilling, romantic suspense novel set in the Pacific Northwest during the Christmas holiday season. Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite times of the year and I enjoy having a Christmas theme in my books, even in a suspense!"
THE INN AT SHADOW LAKE will be on the shelves sometime before Christmas of 2006. Janet is working on the second and third books in the Marshall Brothers Series and hopes to have release dates soon. She is also working on a Christian Cookbook, and another three book romantic suspense series that takes place in the Colorado Rockies.
Janet grew up on Long Island, New York. High School friends knew her as a shy girl who loved to sing and act in school musicals. Her fondest memory was playing the part of Louisa in the community's musical, Sound of Music. Janet played one of the Von Trapp children and beat out about 700 others who auditioned for the role.Being in this musical and others helped her to overcome her shyness.
Attending Saint John's University after high school, Janet graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She took a course in writing for children and submitted to Christian publishers, eventually being published with Concordia Publishing House. Every editor told her she should also write women's fiction--a dream she'd always had. After a while and with much prayer, Janet decided to give her dream a try.
About the same time she and her husband moved to Colorado, Janet Edgar joined the Romance Writers of America. She also joined the local RWA chapters and starting writing women's fiction. She is working on several projects including books that take place in Colorado, Texas and Ohio.
Back in the Mid-West now, Janet and her husband have two grown children. Their daughter, Sandi, and her family live a day's drive away. Their son, Scott, and his family live only a few minutes away. She looks forward to holidays when the entire family, including four young grandchildren, are together in their southern style home.
Janet Edgar is extremely pleased to be published by Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense and looks forward to having more books out soon. She encourages everyone with a dream to pray and persevere, knowing God will show them the way.
Janet enjoys writing Romantic Suspense, Single Titles and Lady Lit. She is thrilled to be agented by Danielle Egan-Miller of Browne & Miller Literary Associates in Chicago.
