Stu and I have been members of Friendship Force since 1995. We had enjoyed hosting students from Majuro, Micronesia and Dietikon, Switzerland while our children were still at home. This seemed like a natural step for us to take to meet persons from around the world.

Our travels with Friendship Force Clubs
In 1995 we traveled with the Friendship Force of Utah to Varel and Volksburg Germany for a weeks home stay in each location. Our hosts were wonderful and we had an opportunity to meet and visit with the German people in their own homes and with their families as well as group club activities.
We have had the opportunity to host many guests from Germany, New Zealand, England, Australia, Chile, North Carolina, Florida and Connecticut during our time as members of Friendship Force of Lower Columbia.
June 2002, we hosted the first couple we stayed with in Varel, Germany and had the opportunity to show them our beautiful Pacific Northwest for 10 wonderful days. We a hosted the couple from Volksburg in October of 2003.
The Club sponsors a Welcome dinner, a days trip to Mt. St. Helens, and a Farewell Party. In between, we have the opportunity to enjoy the Columbia River Gorge, Astor Column in Astoria and the Washington and Oregon Pacific coast areas. Those are our special places, what might yours be?
