RARE DAY

|
I woke with the morning sun gentle upon my face.
I smiled a little as I basked in your loving grace.
As I went about my day facing trials of every kind,
I praised you joyfully because each trial brought you to mind.
Though this day raced at a hectic, frustrating pace,
I remembered to meet you in prayer, in our quiet place.
A friend called on the phone in what was great need,
and I rejoiced at the opportunity to plant your seed.
The mail brought a letter and a wonderful, heartfelt surprise.
A family member wrote they accepted you. I thanked you with tears in my eyes.
As I offered my thanks for my evening meal, I mused on days,
that went so badly and I forgot you in so many ways.
I had then to smile, knowing even those days you understood.
How blessed I was to have a Savior who was so loving and good.
The night passed in reading the parable of the good shepherd and his sheep.
As I closed my eyes I whispered, "I love you." and drifted into peaceful sleep.
