Let me say real quick that a lot of people reading this will probably think that there won't be any "art cred" to making movies like this and this way. I assure you that when I was in the music business, my bands and others that I worked with, were coming up with stuff that was beyond the beyond as far as I was concerned. I am aware that when I say that I will be trying to get either govt grant $ or geo-thermal (companies) $, it will seem as if I am trying to just make a long geo-thermal commercial. I have preached the concept of deep-earth heat source-to-electric power since I was a little boy. As a matter of fact, when school started after the summer that Armstrong walked on the moon, we watched all the vids in every science class all year. Every time they would show the scene were he planted the flag, I would always wonder about any lunar heat source. I knew that wasn't possible without any rotation, but I always hoped there was some other Van Allen type of internal activity that would generate heat.

Enough about me, let's work on the movies! I don't want this to look like those "series" that have taken over the big-bucks sci-fi over the last several decades, but the fact is, that is the way it needs to be. I don't want to film them in order because the first steps would cost too much and would be too hard to understand why. 1- We finally see another system not too many light years away and geo-thermal electric rail guns start slinging massive quantities of building materials and such into orbit (this is the only REAL way to make huge "space-ships". Jillions of tons of rocket fuel for such a small amount of material is way too expensive. As we start getting ready to go up, we also start going down- deep into the lower part of the crust to get energy. There is all kinds of possibilities for all kinds of model scenes showing building the "train" to outer space.

2-Traveling across the galaxy the way it would really look. Looks like a bunch of pencils hooked end-to-end with a big point up front to help deflect impacts. Carved asteroid point and a trail of several miles of train hundreds of feet wide slowly turning. Starts off with a big solar sail and ion & nuke propulsion. There is no "deep freeze" sleep. People are always heavily sedated for long sleep- there are not very many people per train. It will take several generations and this part has many options for all kinds of neat and relatively easy model scene shots (I hope!). Remembering that one of the gimmicks I am aiming for is how to make science exactness look interesting. Room for all kinds of artistic imagery. Trains get hit and destroyed and big fights break out. All earthly references get lost. Hours, day, night, get replaced. Most important the earth goes through changes and pretty much forget about them. New power doesn't want the old power to look good. Everything to save energy. All kinds of struggle. Someone comes up with a way to go faster. Lots more dangerous but go. Years go by and then, there it is. A solar system with big sun and planets to inhabit. Spectrum analysis shown that there is all kinds of Oxygen content. Want to show several near-solar planets to habitat. Each planet can be a movie in itself. The first movie will involve a far-away one with high speed rotation but high metal content. Perfect for building materials.

3-The Iron Zombies of Planet Volcanosche. After the other planets are getting settled there are some that go to the "metal planet". Volcanoes and metallic saturated air. Enough O to get by for a while. Must stay inside mostly. They carry a simple flu type virus with them. Simple virus mutation but the metal air starts coating their insides and bones with metal. Help is on the way. Doesn't kill but groggy and desperate for internal fluids and getting heavier and slower. Barely alive. As the mind goes, the body uses simple survival and always thirsty and hungry. I want this to be the image of what a "monster/zombie" could actually become in the worst of situations. I want a highlight to be the breaking of a board on a frail looking (girl) and no damage. Perfect for prop guys to get some cred. This one hopefully will get done in Iceland. I want to be the first one to film around active volcanoes. I want to get a portable power supply to dip into the lava. Fake, of course, but would be totally cool if it really works! I have lots of ideas for stuff to do on the other planets, but this will be the first and the one the makes us. ALso, I don't want this to be "lessony" like what sci-fi TV shows usually become. No one wants to spend all that time and money hearing about how "space slavery" or "space oppresion" makes you feel bad. Simple survival but all kinds of art and acting possiblities relative to the sciences.

I'm going to get one of the Geo-Thermal Org's to help me come up with a "portable geo-thermal power unit" that will be used to dip into a volcanicly active area---lave bed. Of course it doesn't have to work, but it would be neat if it does!
