Don't Worry,Trust Jesus ~

It Was a Normal House…

A favorite scream was; "I'm grown now."

It was a large three-story house, with eleven bedrooms and a large living-dining room & kitchen on the first floor that everybody used but nobody wanted to clean? Four generations lived in the house. That meant there were four teenagers, one eleven year old, an eighteen year old couple with a eighteen month old little boy, two daughters who are the mothers of the teens and the eleven year old, plus an old lady they called Memaw. Lets not forget the four little preschoolers who were visiting for the summer with their grandmother. All were related in one manner or another. Did I mention two full grown tom cats one daughter brought home to catch any rats or mice that might be hanging around, a mixed breed little terrier who needed a muzzle for his yapper, and two Siberian Huskies? People were into their own thing. They resented anyone else telling them what to do. The teens thought they were grown, their mothers constantly yelled at them, and they did what they wanted to do anyway. The television in the downstairs living room where most of the teens and their friends gathered blasted the Music Video channel. Different music competed with it from across the hall where a grandson, the base turned up so that it vibrated the upstairs windows, and his friends listened to modern day Rap. The front door should have been a revolving door. There was a constant coming and going all hours of the day and night. Several times people thought it was still a Boarding house and walked in looking for someone they used to know who lived there. Someone explained to them it wasn't a boarding house anymore but a private residence and they were showed out. Often tempers flared, doors slammed, and curses rang out. A favorite scream was;" I'm Grown. I'll do what I want!" or "Mom, she won't help me clean up this mess." I used to wish they could be grown for just one day with the responsibilities of a husband, a house, kids, bills, & a job. But after thinking about it I knew that wouldn't stop them. The teens of these last days are a new breed. They live with evil in their daily lives from morning to night. A fortunate few are taught the truth about Jesus by loving parents. Most were not subjected to the bible or to God at all except what they picked up from others they met in their daily travels. They saw their parents living sinful lives. Some even claiming to know and serve God. Today's kids are smart. Monkey see, monkey do. What they see their parents do, they will also do. I never could understand how a parent could tell their kids not to do something that they themselves are doing. It doesn't work that way. Monkey see, monkey do. How many times has the grass looked greener on the other side of the fence, only to get over there and you realize it's not. All that effort to get there wasted. Jesus talked to Publicans and sinners and ate with them. They saw his light shining and heard his words of truth. The word of God convicted them. Jesus said; "Judge not, least you be judged for with what measure you give it shall be given to you." When things get hectic and the noise level rises, pray. When others are doing things you know are not right, pray for them. Jesus said a prophet is not without honor, save in his own country. Your family may not listen to you but they see your light shining. The Lord God will convict their hearts with the words of truth. If you serve Jesus in all things God will put a hedge of protection around you that Satan cannot break through, even with people all around you serving the evil one. He will lift you up and place your feet on higher ground. He will also send his angels to watch over you. God opens doors of opportunity to speak to different members of your family and to friends of members of your family who pass your way. The word's you tell them may mean the life or death of their soul. Do not let the opportunity pass you by. Sometimes things around you get so bad you feel you just can't keep going. You want to run and hide somewhere away from all the evil and noise and confusion. But you wait for God to open the door because he sees the whole picture where you only see a little piece of the puzzle. Satan goes about the face of this earth as a Roaring Lion seeking whom he may devour. His evil demons are everywhere doing his will. They are attacking our children, filling them with hate, confusion, and fear. Teenagers are trying to hide from the world and its hatred in drugs, sex and alcohol. They are growing up fast and living for the moment. They know by the terrible things happening around them, that something bad is going to happen. They just don't know what. We need to tell them Jesus is coming. I stopped by one of the teens rooms and looked around at about six teens, all boys between 16 and 18 years old. There was silence as they looked at me. "I want to ask you all something;" I said. "It just requires a yes or a no answer, all right?" Six heads nodded, wondering what I was up to. "If Jesus came right now, would he take you with him?" I asked, pointing to the first boy. He shook his head no. I pointed to each in turn and got five no's and one maybe. They knew the truth. I had talked to them about Jesus before. They were caught up in the events of the day. Tomorrow didn't exist. There was too much evil in today to worry about. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. You can even push their head toward the water, but they will not drink unless led to themselves. Sometimes you feel as if your heart is broken as you watch your children and grandchildren live their lives with no thought of Jesus or the coming new world. It's a hurting thing. But when Jesus gets here, and it's going to be soon now, there will be no more hurt or pain. The suffering and evil will be gone. We will be changed in the twinkling of an eye. We will feel no sorrow at those we know now that didn't make it, for if we did that would be evil and there will be no evil in the New World. So hang in there for Jesus. Let your Light Shine for Him to all those around you. Don't let Satan get to you through your emotions for that is mans weakest point of entry. Guard them well. Rebuke Satan in Jesus Name when his demons start whispering things to you. Give Jesus all those things that are worrying you. He is faithful and true. He said he would handle them for you. Your will might not be His will. Trust Him. God knows best. Do not let the trials and tribulations that come your way get you down. Rise Above them by the power of the Holy Spirit within you. God and One are a majority over anything or anyone. God will make a way, open a door and convict his children's hearts. Listen to his voice within. He will guide and direct you in all things. He loves you. You are his precious child.
