Kayla Lukoski, daughter of Dave and Sherry Lukoski, was a member of the 2005 Ripon Middle School girls' basketball 8th grade A team. (Source:  Ripon Commonwealth Press, March 17, 2005).

Jon Martin, 16-year-old son of Carol (Neitzke) Martin (Clarksville, Tennessee), auditioned in January on bass guitar and was accepted into the Middle Tennessee State Band and Orchestra Association (MTSBOA) Jazz Band.  Students from over 300 Tennessee schools competed for positions in two concert bands, two orchestras and two jazz bands. The jazz band received music on February 3, practiced on February 3-5, and performed a concert on February 5.
Carol's 13-year-old son, Justin, auditioned in February on trombone and was accepted into the Montgomery County All-County Middle School Honors Band.  The band practiced on March 4-5 and performed a concert on March 5.
Justin is also a member of the Rossview Middle School Symphonic and Jazz bands.  On March 11, Carol helped chaperone the Rossview Symphonic band to the MTSBOA Concert Festival at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.  Over 115 middle and high school bands participated.  The Rossview Symphonic Band received all "superior" ratings in concert and sight-reading.  Only three of the 50 middle school bands received straight "superior" ratings. On the bus ride home, Carol had to suffer through a rousing rendition of "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" that took 20 miles to complete!

Sherry (Page) Muskavitch was elected to the Ripon School Board on April 5.  Sherry joins RHS classmate Steve Meyer on the Board.

Hannah Root, 11-year-old daughter of Jeff and Penny Root (Fairfax, Virginia), earned a "superior" rating for her tuba solo at the Fairfax County Solo Ensemble competition on April 23.  Hannah performed "Londonderry Aire," better known as "Oh Danny Boy."  Penny accompanied Hannah on piano.  Hannah will compete again at the Fairfax County Band Directors' Association competition on May 7.  She has been invited to perform her solo at the re-dedication of her recently remodeled elementary school on May 14.  Hanna will also perform her solo at church on May 29.
Jeff and Penny's 19-year-old son, Andy, was named "Employee of the Month" at the Burke Walmart in March.  Andy works in the inventory department.
Jeff attended the first-ever Washington Nationals baseball game at RFK Stadium on Sunday, April 3.  The "Nats," formerly the Montreal Expos, lost to the New York Mets 4-3 in a pre-season exhibition game.
