RHS Class of 1973 News
August 7, 2005
The Ripon High School Class of 1973 will hold a birthday party on Saturday, August 13, to celebrate classmates turning 50 over the past year. The party will be held at the Marina Grill in Green Lake. Payments were due in advance and will not be accepted at the door. Those without reservations who would like to see classmates should check out the street dance that the Goose Blind is sponsoring that evening.
Steve Meyer and his family hosted the 18th-annual Ripon FFA Alumni Country Breakfast at their farm on June 19. Steve was quoted as saying "When you're a farmer, you can be out standing in your field at any time!". (Source: Ripon Commonwealth Press, June 16, 2005).
Jeff Root (Fairfax, Virginia), attended a family reunion in Janesville on July 16. Relatives from 12 states attended to honor the memory of a great aunt who passed away in September at age 93. Jeff flew into Midway Airport and took the bus to Janesville. The bus stopped in South Beloit, across from the Bakeline Group facility where Bremner plans to move some Rippin' Good Cookie factory operations.
Jeff is teaching Biology during summer school. Jeff's wife, Penny, and children, Andy and Hannah, drove to Disney World for 10 days in mid-July. They saw the Space Shuttle launch, and Hannah spent a lot of time with her best friend who moved to Orlando last summer.
Andy Root was recently promoted to manager of the frozen foods department at Walmart.
Vicki Schroeder married David Brink in 2003. Her mother, Dorothy, has been very ill, suffering from inoperable liver cancer (Source: Candy Fitzwater). Vicki's address is:

Lyle Sonnenberg, father of David Sonnenberg (Lancaster, CA) passed away on April 19 in Holbrook, Arizona, as a result of a car accident. (RCP, April 28, 2005).
John Geer, father of Jill Geer (RHS '88, North Attleboro, MA) passed away on June 15 from brain cancer.
Gene Jess, father of Connie (Jess) Zolkoske (RHS '72, New London) and Cooper Jess (RHS '71, Ripon), passed away on June 22. Gene was the uncle of Luanne "Punky" (Jess) McConnell and Linda Jess (RHS '74). (RCP, June 30, 2005).
Rose Dudzinski, mother of John Dudzinski (RHS '74, Pickett), passed away on June 23. (RCP, July 7, 2005).
George Cotton, father of Keith Cotton (Searcy, Arkansas), passed away on June 25. (RCP, June 30, 2005).
Gordon Fairbert, principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in the early 1960s, passed away in Fredonia (near West Bend) on July 12. (RCP, July 21, 2005).
Raymond Chikowski, father of Mary (Chikowski) Stein, passed away unexpectedly on July 16. (RCP, July 21, 2005).
