The Yacht, JORODETA, was built in 1980 at the Kim Seah Boatyard, Singapore, entirely out of Burmese Teak and fitted out by it’s original owner in Australia, thence sailed around the globe and ended in Malta and sold to a Photographer who sailed it extensively in the Mediterranean and Aegean. Jorodeta got sucked into the middle of the Yugoslavian wars and was rescued one night and sailed to Majorca, during this time everything removable was stolen, sails, electronics, diving equipment etc… She was then bought and we sailed her back to Northern Ireland in Winter, where again she succumbed to the opportunist and various spars, rigging, spreaders and all removable wood went missing. We have spent all our savings and others rebuilding her as well as importing Burmese Teak to build a new open wheel house, and we will be setting sail in late September/early October 2000 to head down to the south of Ireland and then down the west coasts of Europe and Africa and across to south America, Caribbean, Bahamas, Central America and beyond!
