Reproductions with the appearance of age
We like to look young but we want our clocks to look old.
RILEY WHITING
For your restoration or reproduction of an early 1800s Whiting Clock. This is a REPRODUCTION label with the appearance of age. A few blotches and stains here and there. NOT printed on colored paper. Size 11" X 17-1/4".

These labels were used on early 1800s Pillar & Scroll, Transition Cases, Split Column Shelf and Wall Weight Clocks.

Riley Whiting was in the clock business in Windchester and Windstead, Conn. from 1807 until his death in 1835. The name of the printer is at the bottom. "P. Canfield, Printer, Hartford". Philemon Canfield (1786-1864) moved to Hartford, Conn in 1814. He was an established printer at this point and his services were used by many of the early wooden movement clock making firms in Connecticut.

$5.50 + 1.50 Mailing = $7.00

I think these labels were used on early 1800s Pillow & Scroll, Transition Case, and Split Column Shelf and Wall weight Clocks. SETH THOMAS No 2 and OTHERS

So if you are restoring your clock or missing the label, here you go. A reproduction with the appearance of age.  Size is approximately 7 ½” X 2 3/4”.

NOTE: Nothing beats the original label even if only part of it exists. I do not claim to reproduce these in exact form or on correct period type paper. I offer these as an affordable alternate to the labels being sold on colored paper.
