History: Thomas Patillo is a native of Greensboro and has been teaching ballroom dancing in the Triad area since 1960. He is a life member of the Dance Educators of America and has studied with teachers in Europe and the United States. He and his wife, Sharon, have danced for many organizations, shows and festivals in the area and appeared on television numerous times. Thomas has also danced in pro/am ballroom competitions. Nearly 30 years ago Thomas opened his own school, Patillo School of Dance, and is still going strong. The students range in age from 10 to 85. He has prepared many couples for their wedding parties. Thomas also teaches dance part time for Guilford Technical Community College, Alamance Community College, and Senior Resources of Guilford.
