Eagles Reach 88 Million Sold
Despite more than 30 years of recording and several lineups, the Eagles show no sign of slowing down. The band's "Very Best of the Eagles" finished 2003 certified double Platinum. In all, the band has sold an astonishing 88 million albums including the best selling album in U.S. history, "Greatest Hits, 1971-75," which is 28 times Platinum.
Still Flying high
The Eagles' Greatest Hits, Volume II received the Recording Industry Association of America's Diamond Award, in March 2003 marking sales of more than ten million copies.
The album marks the band's third Diamond album, along with
Hotel California, Their Greatest Hits: 1971-75,
which according to the RIAA is the best-selling album of all-time with sales of 28 million copies.
The new round of certifications pushes the Eagles' total sales keeping them the third highest certified band, behind only the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, and the fifth highest certified artist overall.
