THE RESSEGUIE FAMILY IN THE CIVIL WAR

Lewis Denton Resseguie served 18 months on the gunboat "Chippewa" and another 15 months on the Monitor "Patapsco", leaving it 2 weeks before its destruction by torpedo.

Mustered out on 09 June 1865 in Finley Hospl, Washington, DC.
George Resseque (Resseguie)    Private C 156 th Vol. Infantry NY Ancestry.com has him listed as George Reseine. His headstone has his name as Resseque. Buried in W. Ridgeway Cemetery Orleans County NY

also a John Resseguie in 10th Pa. inf but I believe it to be same as one in the 104th. damaged his hearing in battle.
George Read Resseguie Click on his name to see a photo. 141st Pa INF Co. F  Wounded at Chancellorsville (out 3 months) and again at the Battle of the Wilderness. was in many battles and was Appomattox during Lee's surrender. Promoted to Full 1st Sergt on 14 February 1865.

Jeremiah Resseguie   Engineer. Died from sickness in Tennessee. Listed with the name J Ressigner at cemetery as above plot # 4364 Buried in Nashville Cemetery in Tennessee.
Amasa Lee Resseguie  Served with Co. D of the 50th Pa. Was killed at Beaufort South Carolina in 1861.
