About Me
I was born in Yuma, Arizona, while Truman was President, a happy Aries, older sister to two great brothers and a beautiful, wonderful sister, Eileen, who died at the age of twenty. We lived in Dewey, Arizona; had a chicken farm at Cherry Creek, Arizona; and also lived in Prescott, Arizona, and Willcox, Arizona, before we each went off to study at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. My brothers now live in Naperville, Illinois, and West Branch, Iowa. Our parents died in 1994 (Dad) and 1998 (Mom). I am single but would enjoy being married to someone I love who totally loves and values me.
Professional Life and Education
Hello, and welcome. I started teaching music when I was fourteen and currently am the Director and Main Teacher at the Desert Dove School of Music in Tucson, Arizona, (piano, voice, recorder, keyboard, guitar, band, orchestra, organ, singing, preschool music and movement). I graduated from Arizona State University twice with music degrees: BA in Education with a major in choral music (English minor), and Master of Music (choral pedagogy). I also enjoyed four summers in Durango, Durango, Mexico, at the Romance Language Institute of the Universidad Juarez del Estado Durango, learning Spanish and teaching English to Mexicans. At the University of Arizona I worked toward a doctorate in Music Education with a minor in Educational Administration and also completed certification courses in Elementary Education, Bilingual Education, and English as a Second Language. Arizona certifications included: Standard Secondary (music, Spanish, English, English as a Second Language); Standard Elementary (with endorsements in music K-12 and English as a Second Language); Principal; Substitute. I have taught vocal music, guitar, recorder, and band in Arizona Public schools in Tempe, Phoenix, Yuma, and Tucson, and also taught English as a Second Language, bilingual second grade, Spanish, and tutored reading in Tucson.
I am also a musician (piano, organ, guitar, band instruments, singing) and served as the organist and accompanist at Desert Dove Christian Church, 6163 S. Midvale Park Road between 1986-1989 (part-time) and 1989-2001.
My New Life as a Healer and Life Advisor
After my mother passed over in March of 1998, I started going online in the psychic and healing rooms. There were so many people in the psychic rooms begging for readings, that soon I found myself acting as a listener and advisor, helping people to think through what they already know in their lives and helping them decide how they can move forward from now on. Some of them thought they were getting "psychic readings" from me. While Dad was ill before his death in 1994, a "knowing" came to me that I am to be a healer. I could do nothing for Dad (and later, Mom) at that time since I did not know how to access the healing energies. As I worked and chatted with people online, I found myself sending "prayers for healing" as I held my crystals. Some would report results although, as far as I knew, I was mostly providing comfort.
From my online friends, however, I learned about Reiki, the Universal Life Energy,which is channeled through the reiki practitioner to the person receiving healing. Soon I received a Reiki session of my own, hands-on, and before long I had received my Reiki III attunement to become a ReikiMaster/Teacher. It is amazing to me to feel the healing energy flowing through me as I work hands-on with people and as I am sending distance energy as well. In January, 2000, I took a class in Therapeutic Touch, so I have added that healing modality as well.
Also, I work for the Distant Healing Network as a volunteer.
