Well

Classmates:

We made it through the 25th reunion, and it was a great success. Thanks so much to everyone that pitched in to help , and to everyone who came:

We were astounded by the number of folks who showed up for the impromtu Friday night get together at the pub at the hotel on Friday night. If nothing else, I'm impressed with the number of us old folk who can still stay up past 10:00 p.m.!! Susan Via Aaron, in one of her MANY amazing feats in being part of the committee planned ahead and had the supplies to make nametags for everyone and anyone who showed up with their yearbook pictures on them. Becky Hart Lyon, in a rare synapse-firing moment, brought a camera and used it to capture some welcome appearances by the likes of Mark Herbert, Cathy Liss, and Pam Rohrbaugh. The news flash of the evening came when Sandy Whitley arrived with her high school sweetheart, Bruce Spiro, and announced that they were recently re-attached and were to be married that next week! Congratulations Bruce and Sandy!

The weather was on our side for the outdoor event, even after the week of Isabel, and so were the grapes. We've gotten lots of pictures from Nancy Williard Greer, David Bartel, and Becky Hart Lyon. Though we're only able to load up a handful here (limited free space, ya know), there's lots more. If you want to see the entire gamut of pictures, there are links and uploads posted at the Yahoo! group, and we invite all of our classmates to join. Once you join, you can contact everyone there and stay connected that way.

Kathleen in one of her MANY moments of forethought and planning, brought a box for donations to the 30th reunion. Yes, we are not going to wait until the last minute this time. This reunion committee of eight (and open to growth) is going to stay intact and continue to reach out and grow in the next five years. We are truly blessed to be able look back on this experience as fun, successful, and a real eye-opening-palm-sweating learning experience all at the same time. Please please stay in contact with us and let us know what you think/thought of how we did, what we did, and what you think we can do in the future.

The committee has decided to continue on track, and hopefully the Yahoo! Group will catch on, and we'll continue to wipe names off our missing persons list. If anyone has a desire to be a part of this in any way, your help is most welcome. In particular, we'd like to move this website. If you have the means to carve out a bit of internet, your contribution is most welcome.

We've left the registration page up, but now it's not for the reunion, it is for you to send us your contact information. Over the next few years, if you move or change your email address, we'd appreciate being on your list of notices. Please write to us at gcmarshall1978@yahoo.com. Or, as has been touted here before, join the Yahoo! Group.

Why the Yahoo! Group? The committee has been on a search for all of our classmates, and we are sensitive to the fact that not all of us would like our personal information broadcast on a website, or given out in any way without permission. The group will give us access to you, give you access to the rest of your classmates, and limit the number of people that have access to anyone. Your email can be shown or hidden, your choice, as well as any other information about yourself, or none. To see the classmate list, and who's missing and who's not, click here.

Although we are not planning to do anything before the 30th reunion, you may want to hold local impromtu reunions where you are over the years. If we can assist you in any way, let us know.

Everyone take care and have a safe and happy holiday season. If this page gets stale, and the 2003 holiday season has passed, we'll see you in 2008!!
