Great Western Railway Incorporated 1835 ~ Opened 1838
OR (God's Wonderful Railway) Part III 1888 - 1894
The locomotives of the old Great Western Railway Company were, in the main, constructed at either Swindon or Wolverhampton workshops, to the design of the six successive engineers, Gooch, Armstrong, Dean, Churchward, Collett and Hawksworth. However, many other strange locomotives found their way on to the Great Western stock lists due to the addition of the Welsh companies and other small lines of the British Iles.
