Principal
Kajal B. Kapur, Ph.D. – Dr. Kapur earned a Ph.D. in economics from Cornell University in 1990 with a major in Industrial Organization and has consulted on energy and environment issues for the last thirteen years. Recently, she published an article on electric utility deregulation in New York State. She trained international management personnel on important business practices in the restructured U. S. electric industry. She performed economic analyses for a Midwest nuclear utility to help the utility lower costs and increase customer loyalty in a restructured electric environment. She advised a Mid-Atlantic natural gas utility on regulatory trends in an increasingly competitive gas industry. In the past, she consulted on economic, policy and environmental issues related to the regulation of Indiana electric and gas utilities. She presented written and oral testimony before the Indiana Utility Regulatory commission.

Dr. Kapur has taught economics and statistics to students at prominent U.S. universities and served as a reviewer for a prestigious international energy journal. She was invited to teach a class on public utility regulation at the University of Michigan, School of Management and has served as an advisor for a leading group of energy professionals.

Energy Pricing
Kajal Kapur helps clients understand the difference between regulated prices based on average costs and competitive prices based on marginal costs.
