Wildflower Exchange - Mengel Natural History Society
Mengel Natural History Society

For the past few years the April meeting of the Mengel Natural History Society has included a Wildflower Exchange and Give-a-Way. In each of these years there have been plants remaining after the exchange and those are offered to attendees of the program. So far most people have walked away with several plants.

Our April bulletin states:
"Wild Flower Exchange.  Following the presentation, there will be time for members with extra wild flowers, ferns, shrubs, etc. in their gardens to exchange or share them with other members. This is an opportunity to enlarge your wild flower garden or help others get a start. There have been many fine plants  at past exchanges including Virginia bluebells, bloodroot, celandine poppy, jack-in-the-pulpit, wood fern, dogwood seedlings, blue-eyed grass, etc. The plan is for first exchanging by those who bring plants and then to have extra plants to give to those who are just starting a wildflower garden. Please participate if you can."

The public is welcome at this program. The Mengel Natural History Society meets at McConnell Hall, Nolde Environmental Education Center on PA-625.

We expect that all plants come from member's gardens and fields.
